I have known RN's who have gone to other countries during peaceful times....I would have to wonder if $200,000 is worth the risk? Curious what training you would get and how safe it would be.....

I have been searching for a company to do that with and have found NONE. If approached, I would be on the plane next week.

Usually if it sounds to good to be true, it is.

On the other hand, Halliburton is hiring EMT's for about 10K/month to go there.

If you can find out the name of the company offering the job to RN's, pm me.

thanks

Yes, I Have Also Heard This And Am Interested For Anu Info, Please. Thanks

Specializes in Critical Care, Cardiothoracics, VADs.

Just curious why you guys would be interested in that - for the money, or the job?

If I was into the money, I'd take a contract in Saudi Arabia or somewhere like that which offers huge tax free salaries.. and no current war.

Specializes in ICU/CCU/ER/CVICU.

Just for the info. The highest salary I have been quoted for the Mideast is 122K. When you talk about tax-free status, that only applies to the first 80K. One thing you CAN do is opt out of Social Security for one year..but you can only do it once. You also have to prove you have been physically out of the country for a specified number of days during the calendar year. If you don't, then IRS will tax the full amount of your wages. Be careful, be VERY careful. Make sure you meet all the requirements so you do not get soaked for taxes. I personally do not think 122K is worth being away from my family and all the good things the USA has to offer. I make that now as a travel nurse (and more). I might make more there but it would probably be offset by the cost of the divorce.

You make 122k+ as a nurse? How much do you work? Lots of overtime?
