Hi,
I have my first travel assignment at Florida Hospital Tampa. I'm pretty nervous and have read some great reviews on the hospital and a few bad ones for travelers. Anyone ever travel there? Any tips for my first assignment?

I'll be starting there next week, when are you starting? This will be my second assignment.
Me too. I have to report to HR on Monday. Where is your housing? I'm at Citrus Falls through CC travel. My very first contract. Where was your first assignment?

I used to work there long ago and loved it. I love Tampa, its a great city. Find Taco Bus! It seems nuts, but its fantastic food!
I tried to Private Message you but the site won't let me because I have been inactive for awhile? I am starting on Monday at HR as well. I am also with Cross Country and took the housing stipend so I don't know where I'm going to live yet. I'm staying with my friend in St. Petersburg until I can find something closer to the hospital. I just finished my first assignment in the Houston Bay area. Definitely an experience. I've heard great thing about Florida Hospital Tampa so I'm looking forward to it. Also Taco Bus is awesome. See you on Monday!
Hi I just got into Florida. I'll try and private message you. I'm from NY and my name is Laura in case it doesn't let me private message you.

Hello, how is your experience at FH tampa? I'm planning to apply as a new grad..thank you for any info :)
I can't figure out how to private message on here, and sometimes the site won't let me because I'm not active enough? I'm about to sleep after a long night shift but would like to give you information regarding Florida Hospital Tampa before you apply. If you can send me a PM that would be great.

Looking for an update on travel nursing in Tampa. How did it go?
It was ok. I'm used to working at a level 1 trauma center teaching hospital so this was a lot different. It's not somewhere I would work permanently but it's not the worst assignment. I think they're still going through a lot of restructuring after being acquired by the Florida Hospital (Adventist Healthcare) system. I think if the right priorities fall into place it would be a good place to work. It's hard for me to honestly divulge in these online forums because I've heard of people getting fired for slander etc, but I hope you can understand the point I'm trying to get across without saying too much.

Yuck!! That is just about the worst place in Florida to work. Hopefully you all made it through OK?? Transition? No, it is the way the adventist like to treat their nurses. I know the stories are horrific. Most of the real details on nursing at this location are on other boards. Do your research!! So sad when it is a nurse leader bringing down all of her fellow nurses through a system she knows is corrupt. Its really just gross there. Blood, feces and awful management all over the patient beds, linens and rooms. Ask anyone who has worked there since the new nurse director ove the hospital has taken over from virginia. Yikes!!!!!
