Hi,
I will be graduating in May from the RN program and was wondering if anyone has any advice of how to make the transition from student to working RN smoothly?
Thanks

I disagree - my transition (over a year ago) went very smoothly!
Don't be afraid to ask questions, find a hospital with a good preceptor program for new grads, and if you can find an experienced nurse mentor, that's a huge plus.
Good luck to you!

ask ask ask questions! i'm in my 8th month as a new RN and i still ask tons of questions, no matter how "stupid" they may seem. it's all for the benefit of the patients (and you).

Thank you so much for that encouragement MtDew 322. It is a very scary process and it helps to get encouraging comments.
Thank you all for your input. It will help make my transition a little smoother hopefully.
