Transferred to WGU today

Nursing Students Western Governors

I just couldn't take Indiana Wesleyan anymore. I could kick myself for going through them in the first place; I could be done with by now.

Regardless, I will be starting on September 1, and hope to be done with my BSN by January.

I am considering continuing with my MSN, and then doing a post-MSN FNP program.

Welcome! I made the decision to transfer out of my program (Frontier School of Midwifery RN-MSN) in May and I've been doing WGU since July 1. Just today I finished my second class. I'm working at a snail's pace, totally me and not the program. I have regrets that I didn't do this from the beginning - I lost 8 months of my time, and spent $6K in tuition. I could be done late this fall if I had started here. Ah well.

Again, good to have you with us!

The money that I will be saving alone is enough to make me transfer. I won't even go on the snail's pace requirement that I had to have to be a student. It was just not a good fit for me.

The only two classes that I have to take extra are biochemistry (ugh) and statistics (even uggher!) but I plan to get the "xxxxx for dummies" book and hopefully that will help.

I may even be able to be done with my BSN by Christmas. What a blessing that would be!

Finish my MSN by May next year and enroll in FNP by fall! :)

I haven't taken the basic assessment test yet, I have been putting it off. I have all transcripts sent, financial aid processed and my job does tuition reimbursements. So why haven't I taken the test? I suck at math!!! I'm just hoping the math portion isn't that bad and I'm able to get past it. I missed the deadline to get in for Sept 1st because of my fear. I plan on taking it this weekend....praying.

BetterME- I hate math and had a very hard time in school with it. I got a mini-tutoring session from my very smart husband and off I went. I passed every single question on the math test they said.

You also have two hours to do it, and of course you can use a calculator. Basic algebra, true value, some geometrical type questions and you're good to go- it's only around 20-25 questions. You can do it!

SCJME online post-master's FNP certificate program is self-paced:

Might fit your needs for your leaning style!

Don't you wish would have an online FNP program?

UGH.

Got my review today and they WILL NOT accept A&P and Microbiology from Excelsior.

Not a happy camper right now.

Wow, now I have to tell my friend this. SweettartRN what will you do? I know for a fact Chancellors accepts EC's science credits....but just so darn expensive. Keep me posted!

Did you get your Associate in SCIENCE or APPLIED SCIENCE? I ask because if you got your Associate in SCIENCE, you automatically get a "Requirement Met" for those.

Associate in SCIENCE.

It was explained that their qualifications have changed and they will no lover accept these courses without a lab. I am not lying or making this up and will be happy to show anyone my course review and the explanation email that I received with it.

So, is it my understanding they did accept EC's Microbiolgy and A&P and now they do not? If so, was this a recent change?

Did they say why? At first they wouldn't accept my A&P and Micro from Rio Salado because the transcript didn't specifically specify that there were lab components. I jumped through a few hoops and got it clarified that there WERE indeed (online) labs for these classes, and they accepted them.

Oh, wait. So those classes you took through Excelsior did not have a lab component? Not even an online lab?
