Does anyone know where I could find a list of the most commonly used meds in long term care or have a list themselves? I need to brush up on them. Thanks!

WAAAAAAAY too many vitamins and supplements!!

We have one resident who's supposedly on 'comfort care' with Stage IV lung cancer and has trouble taking pills. Yet in addition to the eight Rx meds he gets at 0900, we give him CoQ10, OcuVite, B12, MVI, Vit. C, D, and B-complex, Florastor, MagOx, Ca+ w/ D, Senna-S and DSS (he's got C. diff, for Pete's sake!!), low-dose ASA, and a health shake. AND a bolus tube feeding. AND he usually needs pain meds. It takes 20 minutes to get all that stuff into him.....ain't NOBODY got time for that. And he hates it---he gets so tired out from taking all that stuff that he often falls asleep in the middle of it. But his family insists on all of it, so we're all stuck with the routine.

Sildenafil, the other name for Viagra (in this case known as Revatio) is also used for pulmonary hypertension.
