well, i finally took my nclex today!!! don't know whether to feel sick or excited that it's over...i had to wait a long time because my school took 5 (!!!!!!) weeks to send in the paper to the state and then i had to wait 4 days to get my att. it shut off at 75. i can only hope that is a good thing. i do feel super relieved that it's over. how do you all feel now that it's over and you are waiting for your results?

p.s. i have decided not to do the pearsonvue trick...unless i get absolutely desperate lol...

good luck with the results!!

what did you use to study?

I used Hurst online review and did 300 Saunders questions. I didn't feel that the NCLEX was super different from these two as far as format goes. By that I mean when I was going through the questions it sort of felt like when I did practice questions. We'll see when I get my results :uhoh21:

Congrats to have at least gotten it over with!! I took my boards in CA on June 15th and also shut off at 75 questions. I dont have your will-power though and checked PVT as soon as my status said delivery successful!! I got the good popup, but I am having a HARD time being encouraged by it. I feel anxious and nervous, but somehow relieved to at least have taken the NCLEX once.

I agree about Saunders, I did around 2,000 Saunders questions prior to taking NCLEX and about 1,500 Kaplan (I was question crazed.. haha!) and I felt like I was sitting for another practice exam while I was taking NCLEX in that the questions were worded and had the same "feel" as the practice ones.

Good luck to you in your wait!! :redpinkhe

oops i meant to say computer charting!!!

CONGRATS!!!

did you only do the hurst online review and the saunders questions?

did you use the saunders book too?

i looked at the saunders book a little but i used the saunders book during my program to study as well. i didn't review super hard. i studied super hard during my 2 years of school like it was my job. so i basically just did hurst online (some of the lectures i watched twice) and i studied the book that went with it and did 300 saunders questions and that's basically it. well, i also worked full time for 4 weeks on the floor. that helped, especially to learn about PEG tubes and tube feedings and PICC lines since we didn't really study that in school.

oops!!! i completely forgot all about ati! gee, maybe i had a reason to block ati from my memory??!!! lol. my school utilized ati throughout the whole program so i did a BUNCH of ati stuff throughout and alwas did really well with that. we were also made to do the ati comprehensive predictor and i got a 98% chance of passing nclex the first time. now, just because you do well on that or an exit test doesn't mean you're going to pass because that test isn't the nclex and there are no absolute predictors (according to marlene hurst) but it did make me feel a smidge better. good luck!!!
