Took Nclex today, shut off at 75, only 8 SATA

Published

So i just finished taking the horrible nclex. I went in confident and positive. I smiled and took my time. I took 90 minutes to complete the 75 questions. I got one math question, 8 SATA, priority questions, and a few exhibit questions. Also had lots of pharm, and safety questions, and health promotion.

When it shut off at 75 I felt horrible and wished it would have kept on asking more quesitons. The questions weren't easy. I didn't spend too much time on them. I took the Kaplan in class course, and did all the Q Bank questions. My average was from 50-60%.

I hear that if people pass, they have SO MANY SATA. I only had 8, which makes me so nervous and anxious about it. Please if anyone can give me some good feedback, it would make me feel so much better. I refuse to do the "PVT", because my anxiety can't handle that. I literally started crying the moment I got home. Its the worst feeling, knowing how one exam can mean so much and either help you step forward to the next part in your life, or hold you back for another 45 days.

I need support, if anyone can give their story of their nclex, please I need to read and hear stories!!

There's my experience. It may be too long. Honestly, I had around 28 SATA. I'm pretty sure I didn't get the majority of them because some of them were real random. However, what I have seen is more people pass than fail with 75 questions. Hang in there!

You have a higher likelihood of passing at 75 questions than failing. No one ever walks out of there feeling like they aced it. Mine shut off at 77 questions and I kept thinking "did I do something wrong? That was too fast!!!" But I passed :)

The 48 hour wait until your Quick Results are available are the longest wait of your life. But it is well worth the $8 to know 100% for sure that you passed. Don't waste time trying PVT. They made changes to the registration system and it's not completely reliable any more.

Not sure what state you're in, but some BONs in certain states post the license # even before Quick Results are up.

Best of luck! Let us know when you find out you passed :D
