Took the NCLEX PN Today!!!!

Published

Hi everyone Im new here and I was wondering if anyone heard about people failing the NCLEX PN if the comp stops at 85? I took the NCLEX PN today and my heart is racing I keep thinking about the ones I got wrong because I came and looked them up. Please give me some feedback I don't find out till FRI and I started a new job I just hope I pass!!!!!

I took my NCLEX on 2/2 and just found out today that I PASSED:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:

I used saunders and Kaplin Q BANK I was scoring in the %70 range on Kaplin. I liked Kaplins because I felt that those questions really challenged me. Saunders was good as long as you read the rational. GOOD Luck!!

I also took a live review. The NURSE who gave it suggested to study out of a new NCLEX book to prevent you from just memorizing your answers.

HeartJulz, please try to not allow yourself to get too down. I don't recall one person who said that the test was easy. I recall many MANY who said it was crazy.

My school included the review class as part of the package. Frankly, while I learned much in the review class, it didn't prepare me for the questions I got on the NCLEX.

Most people pass on their first try, so you and I should both be hopeful. I too have much riding on passing this test. But if we don't pass, we'll reschedule as soon as humanly possible, right? In the overall scheme of things, it's just another month or so.

Hang in there, don't let all the "what ifs" mess with you!

I have heard from alot of people that 85 is good that it means you knew your stuff ... so early congrads to ya..

Emerld200- Congratulations on passing the test! I hope you had a huge celebration, what an accomplishment!!

tinaanne- I so hope you're right about 85. Supposedly the vast majority of people pass the first time, but it's hard to feel confident when you came out of the test feeling like "what the heck was THAT??"

From opinions, do you all think the LVN NCLEX woudl be harder than the NCLEX for RN? That they really stick it to us LVN/Pns because we are basically 'brand new?' Im having that feeling ...even though I do have extensive exp. w out my license its like throwing that down the drain because thats what were viewed as... breand new, green...ugh. hate that feeling .. cause I know this stuff ...

well See , thanx for your encouragement.. but yes I take retake it but financially its going to kill me ... because waiting the 4 weeks just to see if I passed then rescheduling, repaying and studying... ugh.. part of me wonders if I should move it up a week and allow myself one more week... anyway off to pick up the kiddo @ school then Chemistry ... ugh...

Hello:

I took the NCLEX today also ~ it was really scary to come out of there not having a clue if you passed or not!! I only had one peds math calculation ~ no fill in the blanks ~ mostly "select all that apply" ~ I came home and found out about 6 questions on disorders that I missed ~ I just felt like I didn't know anything when I got out of there!!

Well, will find out in 2 days. Hoping all of your pass!! I would hate to think of pretty much giving up a year of our lives and failing the state boards!!

Good luck!

Di

HeartJulz, I'm going to go against my better judgment and offer an opinion. I'm guessing that since you also graduated in November, that this is the first time you've scheduled to take the NCLEX... yes? I think it's very tempting to reschedule, because who ever feels ready? I've never once felt ready for a test! But... if you honestly think you've not studied enough, and you've not rescheduled before, then maybe to postpone it a week would work for you. But if you do reschedule, just do it this once, because it would be too easy to keep rescheduling.

Sorry, you didn't ask my advice, but I'd rather see you study hard for one more week and go into the test feeling more confident. Gotta tell you though, I studied my butt off and I did NOT feel confident.

ParadiseFound101, I feel just like you do! I'm so glad for you that you'll know in 2 days... please be sure to let us know. My fingers are crossed for you!

]I FINALLY took my NCLEX today!!! Phew!!! What a relief!!!! Even though I am extremely anxious to get the results, I still feel like I've taken a load off! It stopped at 85 questions. Some of the the questions were so bizarre, definately not material I studied for, but I feel o.k. about it.

]To all those who took their test today,.....GOOD LUCK-and I hope you feel the same way I do,...don't stress, what's done is done!!!! Do like I'm doing, just trying to keep myself occupied, get my mind off waiting for the results!!! :p

I take my NCLEX finally in 12 hours. Last night I had an anxiety attack in the middle of the night... it was awful, this usually never happens but has a few times in my lifetime.. and today I feel so sick. I really didnt think this was going to happen to me like this ... its just too much pressure I think and the what ifs on if I fail ... I know i should only think positive, I dont know whats wrong w me? This has taken its toll on me... I hope I pass...
