Took NCLEX PN, shut off at 85

Students NCLEX

I have a question. I took my NCLEX-PN today and my test shut off after the 85th question. Now, everyone in my class that had 85 questions passed...do any of you know anyone that failed with 85 questions? I had a ton of pharm, about 70% of my exam, like 10 select all and plenty of prioritizing.

My theory is this. If I wasnt doing too good at 85, would they keep on going until I got to 205 and if I was still failing at 205 then have a fail?

I am just wondering what is the probability of my failing at 85 questions...Thanks

Can't predict NCLEX results from the number of questions. Getting a high number of priority questions is often a good sign, but it's still not a solid predictor.

The great majority of US-educated, first-time testers do pass though.

Hey! I just wanted to let you all know that I took my boards today and it shut off at 85 questions. I AM FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad that I have found this web of support. I am so sure that I have failed and will soon have to retake the boards. This is such a scary event. I have 2 days to wait until i can get my unoffical results of pass or fail.I can rattle on about how freaked out i am ; but I will not. Just wanted to let you know that I am glad to know this is a normal reaction!

Hemigal, you're not alone in the freaking out department! I took the test on 1-31 and won't know the results for a few more weeks. Just like you, my test stopped after the 85th question and I won't be surprised if I failed. I'm glad to know that it's a normal reaction too, but it's still an awful way to feel!

Best of luck to you:up:

I took my test today too... and the comp shut off at 85...

AHHHHHHHH!!!!! I don't think I didi well at all.....

Those of you who can check the results in two days are so LUCKY.... I live in cali... so what am I supposed to do for 4 weeks besides pulling out my hair which would eventually result to alopecia :lol2:

Testing center will not send you anything. Results will come from the BON/BRN unless state participates in quick results and you can get unofficial results from Pearsonvue

AHH! I feel like you guys are writing my thoughts! I took the NCLEX PN today and it shut off at 85 questions! I feel as though I was either completely awesome and 85 Q's was enough or did terribly and an extra 100 Q's couldn't even save me! My school supposedly has a 100% pass rate for their grads but I'm still peeing my pants!

I took my NCLEX PN last Thursday, it shut off at 85. I was terrified!!! I spend the rest of THursday and all of Friday looking at the computer. Finally Saturday morning, I got my quick results! I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried the "trick" on Pearsons and it worked for me.... Good luck to all, and stay as calm as you can.

I told mine today. I had around 175 questions. I don't feel good about it at all. I'm so scared and would hate to take it again.

Def is a nml reaction! lol I took the NCLEX-RN yesterday...shut off at 75. Took me one hr to get home when it should have only taken 30 min cuz I kept pulling over to cry. Got home and was gonna try and play Rock Band to take my mind off of it...ended up laying in the dark, watching movies and crying. I tried the trick and got the pop-up....if not, I prolly wouldn't have left the house yesterday lol. I'm still anxious to get the unofficial results tomorrow.
