took nclex pn friday :(

Published

I took my nclex pn Friday and feel like throwing up. Can anyone tell me if they've had a test where the type of calculation seemed repetative? IM, dose based on kg weight, round to 2 decimal places, then 1 decimal, then without decimals? and i had tons of select all that apply!

The number and type of questions really aren't an indication of pass/fail. Try to relax about it. (yeah right).

Good luck!

thanks. i'm trying :)

Hang in there, honey. You passed or not. Now it's just that horrible waiting game.

Hey, don't worry now. They say that if you have more than 10 Check all that apply type of questions, that means you have been answering most of the questions correctly! I took NCLEX-PN test last two weeks ago and I did have more than 20 Check all that Apply and passed it. According to the people at the Review Center in Chicago where I attended review for my NCLEX-PN, some questions may be repeated and the computer is just trying to determine if you really knew the material or wild guessing, like in my exam - I was asked Celiac Disease twice, same question but different options to choose from, there was also questions on Bumex medication, and that came up twice but in different format (1 Check all that Apply, and another multiple choice), also the question did not give me the generic name of the med which should be easier to remember, I had so many drugs and was asked how to know if the Tx regimen was effective if the pt is taking such drug, etc. I also had about 4 math problems, and two of them were similar.

Celebrate today coz I know you passed the test!! Congratulations to you! Cheers!

I have read many places that the select all that apply questions are higher level questions. Meaning, the more higher level questions you got, the better you were doing and the computer was trying to exactly figure out your ability! I have a verrry good feeling that you passed! Believe me, I felt the same way. When the computer was throwing those select all that apply questions at me I wanted to kill myself. Even in school I always bombed on them. When I came out of that test I didn't think I passed at all. The 2 days afterward were like torture. The test was all I could think of. The anxiety is awful. Just have confidence in yourself and realize that you most likely passed. Good Luck! Let me know when you find out!!!!

I just found out i passed! :)

im in the SAME situation!! i just took the nclex last week and i felt so unsure of myself walking out of there! i had about 10 select all that apply and a TON of meds, some of which ive never seen before. i felt like i knew absolutely nothing, and that my weeks of studying were a waste!
