Today has finally arrived. How is everyone transitioning?? Luckily our Medicare beds are low right now and we won't have as many transistion MDS's to complete. Good luck to all.

Hi I'm new to the forum, been an MDS coordinator 5 yrs. I've started on a couple of the 3.0 today, have any of you had problems with A2400. It ask to enter med A start date, when I entered the date(09-02-2010) and my ARD was 10-01-2010 and person was still skilled so my end date was '----' as the assessment tells you to enter. When I did my error check it said the start date has to be on or before the ARD date (which it is) and I also had an error for stop of therapy date '----' . Do all the start of therapy dates have to be 10/01/10.When i used 10/01/10 as the start date and just left the end of therapy question blank then my error check was good/no errors.

i got a discharge assessment done. I found the vendor graphics annoying.
Seeing some problems with our 3.0 software program - don't care for it much.
MDSNUT, what type of MDS were you trying to do? A 30 day? How did you code the assessment? Were you trying to actually put in an SOT? I'm a little confused.

Our powers that be decided at the last minute to revamp and add mds responsibilities to a bunch of untrained staff. This is a total nightmare. It was supposed to take a "workload" off of the mds office but it just added a lot of extra trouble and work. As usual the decision came from one who doesn't acutally do the work!
My facility delegated new responsibilities to some employees, but things didn't get planned out very well. Wondering if this too will just create more problems than solutions. I think since this is new, just like all other new things, it's going to take time to get figured out - and may need to be revamped before it really becomes workable.

well, today is 10/3 and i haven't finished my 2.0 assessments. month end close tomorrow, with type of assessment, ard and rug scores due. two mds positions, 27 mcr, and when asked to split the building the 2nd coordinator keeps her papers to herself, ie. certs sent for and received, mcr resident tracking, discharge planning forms. what's up with that? no one else assigned to help out. it would be great if the admission nrs could at least enter the dx codes, documentation sheets, send for certs. maybe even obtain prior level of function if possible. tired of being the workhorse.

Well, All I can say is be glad that you have any help at all!! The only reprieve we have been able to get is "don't put the MDS/PPS Coordinators on call for three weeks". Grrrr
