To any RN's in southern california looking to work in Australia

Published

Hey everyone, I just graduated May 2007 and started working in December. I'm interested in working overseas and my number one location would have to Australia. Hopefully, within the next year I'll be able to relocate there.

I'm looking to see if there's anyone in the same position as me (wanting to work in Australia), and if anyone would like to get into this together, because I honestly have no idea where to start! And having someone in the same field, with the same ambitions would be great to have along for the ride. Please respond if you're interested!

I'll join the team!! I'm a peds RN in Ohio, only been an RN for about 2 years, just now starting the application for license and will probably follows Jewel's guidelines for the next steps. I'd love to keep in touch with other RNs trying to get this thing going, and it would be great to kinda know someone over there lol send me a private message if anyone wants to be "pen pals" throughout the whole process!

Just to let you all know, it's very easy to get to Australia as a US-trained BSN-educated RN. You should not need a recruiter - it will not be difficult to get a job.

Hi Mclovin (kudos) / Mike,

Was just searching this forum to learn about people's experiences moving to Oz as a US-trained RN. I see that you started this thread in 2008, and was wondering how it all ended up?

Cheers!

Matt

Hi ghillbert,

Any idea of the average length of this process?

And do you know if it's just as easy to work in New Zealand as a US-trained RN?

Thanks,

Matt
