For those of you who are nursing students, can you tell me how many hours of sleep you'd get while going to nursing school? And if you had a lot of time to study, or why you didn't get enough sleep. I just want to know. I'll be starting nursing school in fall of 2014 and I would love to get at least 7 hours of sleep lol. just want to know how you guys are doing and what I'll be expecting. (i will be working only once a week and nothing else other than studying!) :)

Unless you have a full time job, kiddos, or something else that you are greatly responsible for, you should be getting a decent Amount of sleep. You'll learn time management if you haven't yet
The only time I felt sleep deprived was a day or two before a test. Only because I can only study at night when my son goes to sleep. I would stay up very late reading and reviewing! :)
If you prioritize and plan your days and get a study schedule going, you'll be a "normal person" and be able to do stuff with family and friends while getting good grades, sleep, and staying healthy.
Don't let all the bad posts scare you.
Just be prepared and prioritize - and stick to it!
I just saw that you'll be working once a week! :)
You'll be fine. Go to bed when you should, (maybe not past midnight? Haha) and you'll be golden
Thanks ... i hope to be in bed by 11 -.-

i actually plan on working full time during the program(have to). any advice?
Schedule your time wisely. You can NEVER over study. Use a calendar to plan out what days you will study what chapters and get started early. Give yourself a day or so after a test to relax then start on your next chunk of information.
Work your booty off the first part of the semester so you aren't hanging on for dear life for a passing grade on your last exams. Trust me... You don't wanna be in that position.
ANYTHING is possible. It's aaaaaall about staying prepared and keeping your head in it.

I have 3 very busy kids and I just took 17 credits in my first semester of nursing school. Just be diligent to write out all your due dates on a calendar and plan your time each week. I got good amounts of sleep most nights. I never slept well the night before clinical because I was too paranoid that I would be late and then be sent home. It does happen!
Ugh! That was the worst part of clinical! The night before I could never sleep due to the same thing
