I'm over here in Fort Worth keeping my fingers crossed for ya'll!!! I know the suspense has got to be killing you by now. I've been lurking at your DCCD post and I get a panic attack every time I see Fun2Care's countdown. LOL!!! The day I found out the TCC letters were coming out, I stalked my mailman. ROFL!! He parked down the street and once he got out of his truck to deliver mail, I went and looked in the truck and could see my packet sitting right in the very front. What an exciting day that was!! Hang in there, it won't be long now!! BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!:balloons: :icon_hug:
I thought Dallas' El Centro college didn't have a waiting list for there nursing program?
A waiting list means there are already 100-300 or however many people who are qualified and have been accepted to enter the nursing program. Additional applicants have to wait until their number comes up for an available seat to start the program. Some schools just take applicants every year and whoever is not accepted has to reapply the next period. I hope this is what you were asking and this clears it up.
Who would you be waiting to get into nursing school if you live in dallas and meet all the pre reqs and good gpa?
Gotcha....There are only 110 seats for El Centro & North Lake combined.
It goes by GPA, so if there are 100 4.0 students applying they would get in. Then it would go by how many 3.77 students have how many support classes done. If the remaining 10 students had all the support classes done, then it would go by the GPA of the support classes.
I hope this made since. LOL
(STILL WAITING FOR THAT DARN MAILMAN!!!!)
Still don't know. Hopefully the letter will come in today, if not, for sure this next week! :)
I just know you will get in. I wish you lot's of success with it. I have decided to get out of nursing. I have been in pre req classes full time for two years making mostly A's and some B's, and lately I am reconsidering my dedication to it. I want to be an Enviromental Scientist and work with the EPA or something equivilant. So keep you your hard work and I wish you alot of luck. I may still ask a Chem question every now and then. I will still read the board from time to time, but I am leaving the nursing school career pathway. Take care.
