TN New grad pay

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Just curious - who we have graduating and what the new grad pay is in your area of TN.

The highest in my area is in Memphis. I hear Baptist is 19.50 + 2/hr bedside for a total base of 21.50. Is this the highest in TN? Most hospital are paying

roughly $20.xx with bedside diffs + nights/weekends.

PS - I'm not going to work there - I don't believe in just going to the best paying. But I was curious how various hospitals across TN are paying - I believe our pay is slowly coming up!

luckylucy - how interesting. I would definitely agree there is a lot of competition between those hospitals. If you hear anything about when they are released let us know. I'll keep my ears open too.

This is straight from the recruiter to our school faculty.

I am from Memphis. I am in nursing school in Illinois and I plan or returning home after I am done. Is the pay that low for rn's there?

What is the pay in Illinois?

I am attending school in SE Missouri, graduating in May with my ADN. My sister lives in Nashville and wants me to move down there really bad. My dream job is to work at Vand. but I cant believe the starting pay is not higher than 17.50 with the cost of living there. I have a job offer for Poplar Bluff MO that will start me out at 20.15/hr, plus an additional 6.50 for anything over my 36 hrs, then time and half on that for anything over 40. I really want to move to Nashville, but the cost of living is so much cheaper here and the pay is better. My question is, if I get a year or so of experience and then move does anyone have any idea of how much you can make there?

I do believe they have "level" of nurses. Level one would be a novice with no experience at all.

So, after a year, I'd think that you'd be able to ask for more pay and go up to the next level since you'd have experience.
