Hi Lunden this wait is driving me crazy. It's even worser for me now than it was when I applied for this past fall. My friend called me on Tuesday and said she went to the nursing office and a lady told her the cut-off was a 3.3 so far, because not many people aplied. Not true because I called the nursing office on Wednesday and spoke with 2 different people at two different times and they both stated they were still working on files and GPA cut off has not been determined yet. I just don't like waiting this is driving me crazy the anticipation. Lets keep each other company so that October flys by.

I am waiting on mine at the moment too. I really think mine will be a rejection letter though. It's my first time applying and my GPA is not where a lot of others are (not that it's bad though).
People who just applied are hearing so many different things about how long it will take and about how many slots are available this next semester and just about everything. It's frustrating to hear so many different things and it doesn't reflect well on the staff in the nursing office IMO. It's almost as if it's a game to mess with our heads and to amuse themselves. ARGH!!!
The one thing that seems to hold true is that if you can access your academic transcript online that once you are chosen it will show on that transcript where your major is. On our system it would change from saying "pre-nursing" to "nursing" next to major at the top. At our school people in the past have been able to see this online well before they got their actual letter. I don't know if this will work for anyone else but it's worth taking a peek at.
Good luck and best wishes!

I'm in the same boat as y'all...I'm supposed to hear by the end of this month but the suspense is KILLING me!!! I have a good gpa, but I guess it's all relative depending on the gpa's of the rest of the applicants. I love October but this year it can't go by fast enough. Good luck everyone!

Hi Taodepooh Nice to meet you. Don't just assume that you are not getting in because you think your GPA is too low. GPA varies for admission none of us know what types of GPA's applied for this semseter especially since students from other schools have to have 12 credits before applying. Not saying that WCCCD students don't have high GPA's,but we are only competing with our own now. Just hold on to the possibilty and be excited that you have even come far enough to be able to apply. Think about the students who are just starting or those who have to take classes over. I couldn't imagine what those people reviewing the application packets go thru I'm pretty sure it's a lot of work and tha't probably what takes them so long to send letters. It's really no different at other schools. The wait is a killer I'm just trying to be patient. Good Luck

The application deadline for several of my schools hasn't even passed yet! The earliest I'll hear from the earliest school is the end of October, and possibly not till mid-November.
yea, they all have diff. things 2 say, because one person will say one thing, then someone will say something else, but hopefully that cutoff will be around 3.3. also jan. admissions gpa i hear will be lower so even if someone thinks that their gpa is low still may get in. hey sillyrabbit i keep a journal now to right down my thoughts each day on waiting and i think i'll keep it through nursing school

ya I am waiting also.... I applied to 7 nursing programs and I doubt I will hear anything until late November early December.... Hurray for making us wait 3-4 months to find out... One school even said the latest would be mid January!!! So that would give me like a week to get ready for that school...
that is crazy!!!!

Mid- January? That is kinda ridiculous. I'm still waiting for my letters as well. I applied to three schools. The one BSN program I'm applying to I'm waiting for two letters; one for all qualified applicants to take their entrance exam and the acceptance/denial letter. (but by God's grace I will expect an ACCEPTANCE letter) I'm practically stalking the mailman, you guys... Sometimes i wish I can go to sleep and *magically* wake up in Mid-November. :chuckle
i know what you mean, i wanna stop thinking about it altogether so the time will go by much quicker.
ya most of the schools have to wait for final grades to be posted before deciding who gets accepted. So, of corse that means no letters for a while.... And its kinda scary cause the one school that will give a weeks notice isnt close to where I live so I would have to find a place to move to and move within a week.... Or spend the few months in a hotel while I look. Sheesh!
