Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Here is my timeline (Illinois to California):

April - Sent my school transcripts

May 5 - License verification sent to California.

May 19 - Flew in to California, did Livescan, handed my application to Sacramento BON office

May 22 - Cash checked

June 2 - Called BON for updates, FBI/DOJ cleared me.

June 9 - Called the 1 800 number (thanks cecilbee!). Representative told me my transcripts and license verification are not in system. So I had license verification and transcript resent.

Question

Does the BON start your application, then dig through the mail for the transcripts/license? or should it be it be in the system before application was turned it?

Also, when does the California BON send you a request to make a Breeze account?

KC, I sent my transcripts/license verification through nursys in February. Full application, hard copy finger print cards, and fees (including temp license fee) March 25th. I was told my application and fees were received April 22nd. I got the email to join the Breeze site May 7th. May 9th they sent a letter stating my transcripts hadn't been received, found this out May 14th when I called to check on the application. Resent my transcripts May 15th. Called 2 weeks later to verify they had been received and was told they were but I was showing a blank in the fingerprints area. I was then told I'd have to wait 5-7 business days before I would get any more info. Called back on Friday to see what was going on and was transferred to a supervisor because he couldn't see my application at all (that gave me a mini heart attack). Supervisor says that they did not have my transcripts and were receiving many this time of year that it was going to take longer to process, but my fingerprints had been cleared June 2nd. This process has been a nightmare. I was hoping that since I applied for the temp license I'd at least have that by now, but NOTHING. Knowing this now I would have saved the extra $50 and applied sooner.

@sunripndrazbry - Sorry to hear that. This is the reason I signed up for allnurses, to check everyone else's experience with this process. I'm calling at least once a week to get updates so I don't waste my time sitting around.

My app finally went through. I just checked breeze and looks like I am official in california.

Took a little over 2 months

Congrats!! So happy for you. All the best! Thanks for the update. Makes me hopeful mine will come in soon.

Congrats agmirn!

I browsed on the BreEze site and registered. My application has a deficiency: "Missing Education History". What does this mean? missing school transcripts?

Kcal

Mine had said that. Then after a few weeks it went away. I think it may mean "we aren't done looking at stuff yet"

Thanks for replying.

I think you're right. I sent my transcripts (via school) and my license verification (via Illinois BON) and contacted both parties. They said it has been sent but they will be resending. These stories are making me paranoid! haha. I want to move by September.

Congratulations angmirn!

Does anyone know what pending means? It doesn't say any type of application deficiency... just pending. Unless I am not seeing it?

Mine says that too.

As for June 19, the "Missing Education History" is gone.
