I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
My latest news is that California won't take my transcripts because I'm in a bridge program and don't have a degree yet (so I'm still in the program, I'm an RN, and I'm getting my MSN in August). I've called, left messages, and explained that other people from my program have CA licenses, but so far, no luck. I have a full week of classes ahead of me so I'll have to wait a little while before I call to harass them again haha. On the bright side, I was told my fingerprints went through! So that's something :)
Wow prooxfordcomma, from not taking transcripts to having a license in two days. Congrats. Hopefully I'll hear something soon. Every time I call, I'm told just have to wait...looks like they have everything. What a rollercoaster.
angmirn: that would be my guess. Don't know what else it could be.
cecilbee1 that is Awesome!!!! I have tried calling the BON a few times and each time after going through all the prompts it tells me they are very busy and can not take my call and I should try again later. I have been using the 916 number on the BON website. Is there a better number to call?
Also, which number did you call for DOJ?
I am happy for you that all has worked out well. Now on to finding a great job and moving. All the best to you!!
Thanks Africanbelle! Try the BON at 1-800-838-6828. The two times that I called someone picked up without prompts at all, and they have been polite and helpful. For status of paper fingerprint cards you can call 916-227-3835 and leave a detailed message and someone will call you back (they tell you what information to leave on the recording), then for livescan you call 916-227-4557 and give your ATI number and DOB. I am looking at my messy notes, so I may have the phone numbers mixed up but you'll be able to tell when you call. Hope you find out something soon!
cecilbee1, thanks for the timely response. I actually just got off the phone with a rep at the BON. I finally used the 1800 number and it's the first time I have beenae I speak to someone after trying the 916 number in vain for a month.
The rep said thy have all the information they need from me so far but they just started processing my application last week so I shouldn't expect my license for anothe 6-8 weeks. Although it seems like a long me, I feel better just knowing I was able to get though to somebody.
Thank you for the DOJ number, I will give them a call and hopefully my finger prints are ok.
Thanks again!
cecilbee thanks for the 800#. I got to someone who actually put a tracer on my file to see why the heck I was still unlicensed. Couple days later (today) finally got my license. Holy cow, what a ride! Here's a summary of my timeline for anyone interested:
Feb 5, send in livescan in CA, used nursys for license verification.
DOJ hotline says my info was transmitted on Feb. 6.
Feb. 14, check cashed.
March 10th: transcripts in order all received but fingerprints not showing up, be patient, we have 90 days from when we cash your check.
Numerous other phone calls with same response.
May 2nd, called 800#, ------------- says he sees no reason why I should not have my license (yeah, that's what I'm thinkin' too). Says he'll put a trace on my file and call me back within a week or so.
Tuesday morning, May 6: license appears on BRN breeze site. Nearly had to change my undies. --------- emails and calls to congratulate me. Nice. Happy nurse's week!
