Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi all - my TEMPORARY license number finally appeared on Breeze today. Does anyone know when we can expect for the actual temporary license card/form to come in the mail?? My job won't let me start until they have a copy of the actual card.

congratulations! I'm jealous... and nervous about how long this is REALLY going to take!

I've been following this thread closely because I just applied for my CA license by endorsement on 7/14. My temporary license just posted today, about 6 weeks since I sent my application in. Apparently things are starting to move at the BoN...Hopefully.

I called again this morning... I used the other number and got through to a human being on ONE ring!

This person said that they actually DON'T have my nursys verification in yet and restated what the other person had said, about my fingerprints not having gone through yet. I asked if there was anything I could or needed to do and he basically just told me the same thing- wait two weeks, call back. He also said that if my fingerprints aren't through in two weeks when I call back then I need to speak with their fingerprint processing supervisor/coordinator. UGH. I asked him about my nursys verification expiring and he said it should still be good but I have my doubts.

WHY is this such a nightmare?!

Celeste27 What was the better number to contact the CA BON?

Hey there's a better number to access! When I get home I'll type it in..

I'm not celest but I can answer for you... (916) 574-7600

Good news for myself. The Department of Justice completed a name search in only 45 instead of an estimated 90 days.

Now I have to go through Enforcement before the Licensing department.

So after submitting my application in March 2016 I'll realistically get my license late September early October of this year.

Moving to California regardless of the status of my application since I'm so close.

Update:

all papers received may 4. 16 weeks and 1 day later my license cleared/posted on breeze.

Did LiveScan prints...

****** thing is it expires 2/28/18.... which means I don't even get the full 2 years. They do it based on the month AFTER your birthday... That's rather annoying

For those of you who wrote to your Congressman, what did you say? Did you just give your entire timeline?

Were your fingerprints rejected a second time ctabs14?

Not sure yet. I called yesterday and they haven't come back. I need to start working soon and I'm really fed up.

Hopefully for you they'll work.

Luckily my current position let me extend until mid-September. Then I'mmoving to California.

This whole waiting game is driving me nuts.

Thankfully my supervisor has been reassuring me to not worry, and that I can start as soon as I receive my license. I moved to San Diego on the 6th and was supposed to start working on the 11th.
