Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA
Just an update: I received my permanent license in the mail today, just a little over 8 weeks from when I sent everything in. I'm not sure what the secret is to a quick turnaround time, but I understand the stress this is causing some of you. I signed a contract in CA without knowing how long it would take to get the license and fearing that I would end up down there without being able to work. Good luck to those of you who are still patiently waiting! It'll happen!

Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA
Hi msmelissarose, To answer your question, I applied through my travel nursing agency in the middle of July. It was all done via paper and the fingerprint cards. I sent in the application, fingerprint card, and passport photo in an overnight fedex folder that the agency sent me. Apparently they have someone right there in Sacramento who hand-delivers your stuff to the BoN. That same day, I used Nursys to verify my other licenses. Finally, I sent transcript requests to every college I've ever attended. I only sent the BoN transcript request form to the nursing school I graduated from. From that point forward, it was just a waiting game. Within a week, my application showed up for the permanent license with a deficiency of "Missing education history". Apparently this is standard. Then, there was no change for several weeks. Around 8/19, I checked the Breeze website and my application for the temporary license showed up. Then, on 8/24 my temporary license posted. Hopefully that information is somewhat helpful. If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA
I've been following this thread closely because I just applied for my CA license by endorsement on 7/14. My temporary license just posted today, about 6 weeks since I sent my application in. Apparently things are starting to move at the BoN...Hopefully.

Any twenty- or thirtysomething gay travelers out there?
Glad to hear feedback from some other travelers out there, especially with being a first-time traveler. Well, I guess I should say a first-time NURSE traveler. I figured it probably isn't too hard to make friends on the road. It's just the thought of leaving life-long friends that's getting to me I think. But, it's all part of the adventure. It'd be cool to run into some of you on the road at some point in the future. There are currently lots of positions for my specialty in southern CA, so if that's still the case in February, that's probably where I'll end up. Going through the long process of applying for my CA license now...Fun stuff!!!

Hi Raindrop! Are you currently traveling? I'm a pretty outgoing guy and love meeting new people, gay or straight. If you are currently traveling, where at and how have you liked traveling?

Any twenty- or thirtysomething gay travelers out there?
Hey guys! Just accepted my first travel assignment, which starts on August 18th. This is a 26-week assignment and unfortunately keeps me in Michigan through February. However, afterwards I'll be looking to travel to the West coast/Pac NW. I'm thinking Portland, OR or somewhere in northern CA assuming there are contracts available in those areas at that point in time. I'd be really interested to hear from other gay travelers regarding things like making friends on travel assignments. I'm not one to wander into a bar by myself and I'm not a huge fan of the "social" apps out there. I'd also be interested in future travel buddies. I'd love to hear back from some of the experienced travelers out there. Quitting my full-time job in order to pursue travel nursing has been an exciting, but scary experience! Looking forward to hearing from some of you!
