I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
California got my information in the Breeze system on 3/23/15, and just as of today 5/7/15, I was issued a temporary license! My original license state was PA, but I'm also working in Oregon now so I just used the OR license on Nursys for verification. Worked great! I was so worried that I paid the extra $50 for the temporary and then wouldn't get it in time. Plus I used all paper application and fingerprint cards as well. Good luck everybody!

Congrats on temp license. I hope to get mine too esp since i paid for it. This has not been the case recently. A nurse had to write the consumer dept complaining about paying for a temp license and not getting in- in 2 days she was issued one. For awhile you were not getting a temp just the perm but I think they have received enough complaints that they are now making an effort to send temps out. My original license is also from PA but verification was sent out in 5 days-i spoke to the person who sent it off so fingers crossed. I extended at my current contract because I knew it would take awhile to get my CA license
Just an update and venting frustrations:Timeline
February 27 - Date USPS says my application was delivered
March 12 - Date Breeze system shows my application "submitted"
March 19 - Attempting to call CA BON to check status, automated response thing disconnects me instead of letting me hold
March 23 - Attempt calling the board. Again auto disconnects when saying to hold
March 24 - Call 10 times. Get passed the auto thing once and make it to being on hold. Someone picks up and it immediately disconnects
March 26 - Successfully speak to a human! States they are working on January applications and to try calling back in 4 weeks.
April 9 - Make several calls to BON, auto disconnects
April 10 - Make several calls, speak to a human! "We are currently working on February applications, you application is considered March, please wait 4 - 6 weeks"
(Panic mode ensues, lease ending on apartment, travel agency has a job lined up for me but can't submit me without a license)
April 22 - Nothing promising. Call back in 4 weeks.
FINALLY RECEIVED MY PERMANENT LICENSE A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO! I called again today. "It looks like things are still in motion...hold on [2 minute hold]...it looks like your application is complete..one sec [10 minute hold]...you applied for a temporary license? Okay well here's your permanent license number, I received it just now."
Hello everyone,
I am so glad I found this website and was able to read all of your posts! I was one stressed woman prior to finding this. I submitted my application, fingerprint cards and check to CA BRN April 22, they received everything (according to my USPS tracking) April 25th. Ive been going crazy wondering why it was taking so long for my check to clear the bank. But after reading your comments, it seems that this wait time is average. I registered for Breeze tonight and it shows that the status is "pending", under the details tab it says "open", deficiencies say "missing education history", notes say "...TX in suspense"-----has anyone else had these comments? Any help is greatly appreciated :)
Hello fierceRN, I literally registered after reading like 10 posts from this forum. When I registered I got a page that said "Good News! We have located your information" which made me about jump off the couch. Probaly means nothing at all. Being registered and actually being able to see whats going on has calmed my nerves big time!
I've been following this forum for a while to try and get a general idea of how long this process takes and I thought I would write my experience thus far from endorsing from Colorado to California after getting offered a job on March 29th
March 30: Livescan fingerprinting done, application submittted via MAIL, transcripts overnighted
April 15th: Nothing up on breeze yet, check cashed
April 20th: Email conformation from breeze sent, Breeze states my license is "pending", and that it is "missing education history"
April 25th: Called BON and spoke to rep who stated that it takes 4 weeks from time when breeze is created to go over transcripts so callback at the 8 week mark and should have temp license by end of May
May19th: Called BON again to make sure they received my transcipts because I've heard that some people's got lost in the mail room. A very rude lady told me "Since you mailed in your app, it takes about 60-90 days longer to process. You should call back at the 60 day mark from APRIL 20th to check your application status." She also said my transcripts have probably arrived but havent been reviewed yet.
Very upset right now as I have been told different things by different BON employees. Also asked why it doesn't state anywhere in the application that it takes a month longer to process applications that are MAILED and why we pay for things to be overnighted (like transcripts) when they haven't' even been touched or looked it and its been 7 weeks. The lady was very rude and put me on hold and actually hung on me. I'm seriously in shock with how long and unorganized this process is. I am definitely filing a complaint as soon as I can. This is a professional organization that expects us to act and be the best professionals we can, yet their professionalism is almost absent.
Will keep updated!
Hey guys,
i'm a NY nurse and sent all my paperword into cali BON on 3/35/15. My breeze status says pending however when I click "details", under status is says "open"...
do people know how much longer its taken once an application is in "pending/open" mode? I have to sign a travel contract by the end of may and plan on driving out there june 15th! >_
every day counts! Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Hi!
Below is my timeline, and I received my permanent license number on 5/13.
Good luck, everyone!
Hi!Has anyone whose status on Breeze changed from "Missing Education History" to "Open" or "Pending" receive their license?
Here's my timeline:
3/17/15 Mailed out my app, Nursys, livescan and transcripts
4/3/15 Submission date on Breeze
4/6/15 Check cashed
5/5/15 Breeze status "Missing Education History" with "Transcript in suspense 4/8/15" under Notes
5/5/15 (later that same day) Breeze status went to "Pending" with the deficiency and notes getting cleared
I'm a bit nervous, especially bc I have transcripts from two schools, and only one school was listed under "Notes" section before they deleted it altogether. I'm not sure if they are missing my transcript from my other school. This waiting game is quite nerve-wrecking!
