Tidewater Community College Fall 2018

Published

Hello all fellow applicants for TCC's Fall Semester 2018!

I have been scouring the most recent TCC post, and the latest applicants have been offered their seats in the program, woohoo!!! As a result, I have decided to post a new thread for the next round of applications.

Just curious, will anyone be a resident of Virginia for only a short time before applying? I will be moving in December and I was wondering if my measly two month-long residency will hold up as well against someone who has been a resident of Virginia for over a year.

Happy application cycle! :) Hope to see some of you someday soon.

Waiting is going to be the worst part for me! hopefully the next 2 months go by fast

Hey guys!!!! I did my HESI today and am hoping to be admitted in to the Fall Cohort! Have a 4.0 and 92% on the hesi, so very hopeful. How is everyone else feeling??

Great job!! I'm feeling pretty good hoping we both get admitted!

Wow you're definitely getting in! It's my second time applying and I don't think I'm gonna get in but we'll see!

Why do you think that if you don't mind me asking?

I only got a 76% on my hesi. It was too low alsst time and I'm sure it'll be too low this time. I just don't wanna get my hopes up, so I'm setting myself up for disappointment. I really really wanna be a nurse and get into school but I just test so poorly. I have everything else going for me. Good gpa, all my classes complete, and a college degree. It's just the damn hesi that's standing in my way.

I'm so sorry I really hope you get in. Can you retake the hesi?

AWw thank you! I hope you do too! I'm sure you will! Unfortunately no. tcc only allows you to take it once within a year and I took it in June. But if I don't get in I'll apply to sentara and Hampton university. I can take the teas for sentara and retake the hesi for Hampton.

That's awesome! You should definitely apply up several programs. Try to remember that no one is guaranteed a seat no matter how high the GPA or how well they did on the hesi exam. Everyone is in the same boat as you until April.

I am also applying for fall 2018. I am discouraged now because I scored low on the HESI. I got a 71%. I was so scared to fail the A&P portion that I didnt study the other subjects like I should have. Now I dont even think it is worth it to turn my application in.

It doesn't hurt to turn in the application. I'm in the same boat. Only got a 76% but I'm still turning in my application. Who knows, maybe a lot of people didn't get high scores and that'll bring down the average.

I definitely think it's still worth it to turn it in you never know what they'll take. I wonder what the average hesi % is for accepted students. I got a 91% which I thought was pretty solid but I read a post on here where the lady said she was considering retaking the exam when her score was a 89%
