do you throw away your old notebooks and flashcards? I save my books in case I need to refer back but I'm having a hard time tossing out all these cards I made!

All of my notes are typed, in page protectors, in a binder. I save everything.

You are a sick, sick woman! :roll

That's way impressive....

I am saving stuff I deem important, and tossing the "fluff" (history of nursing, role of the nurse, etc).....

3 plastic boxes FULL of notes, text books, writing books - I have work dating back to the 7th grade, the bulk of it from 11th and 12th which I do not intend on binning :) I do believe in the theory throw something out and sooner or later you'll be cursing, wishing you had never thrown it out!

I have kept everything from school. I have three huge trunks of assignments and papers. Plus, many boxes and shelves of books. I actually do refer back to them from time to time.

I have actually refered back to them more than a dozen times- it's so nice to have that extra clarification handy!

And I agree, iliel- it' such a waste to throw away something you worked so hard on!

I know it's a waste to toss everything, but i hate holding on to this stuff!!!

the cards are going, but the notes will stay for a little while

i will keep my notes until after school in may.

i thought i was the only one who saved them!! i have already used my physio i flashcards for my physio ii (which were a year apart). i usu throw out the flashcards, but keep the notes. i have half of mine typed, half in notebooks. i also keep all the books except the microbio.

those notes are gold to me!

I keep all of my notes, rough copies, etc. ALL of it. My husband built a shelf in the basement just for storing the boxes of these notes that I have accumulated. Not just notes and flashcards from classes, but any and all rough copies of any paper, submission, etc.

I found out the hard way that you need to save these things. In Ontario, we used to have grade 13 (or Ontario Academic Credits) - you needed six of these credits to enter university. I wrote a term paper for an advanced english class and turned it in early - left it on the teacher's desk. Two weeks later another student and I are called into the teacher's office and she wants to know who copied the paper from whom!?! I was floored! Neither of us would admit to copying it from the other so we were asked to prove our innocence. Lucky for me, I had my HANDWRITTEN rough copy at home. As soon as I asked for permission to go home and get it, the other student caved and confessed to taking my paper from the teacher's desk and photocopying it. She thought she would get away with changing the wording here and there! It turned out okay for me, but without my handwritten rough copy, I would have had no way to prove my innocence.

An allegation of plagiarism is grounds for dismissal from any educational institute and good luck getting into another one. Always, ALWAYS keep your notes, cards, and rough copies of everything.
