Do you feel you received a quality education? Did you feel you got the education you needed to practice as a NP? I am waiting to hear if I was accepted to 2 schools. One local, and one online. Cost is a big issue. The local university will cost 36thousand, while the online school about 14thousand. There is a post on here about online schools having less quality. Is there a chance when looking for a job, there will be that thought?

There is not one bucket called "online schools", all of which have the same quality. The quality of each online OR B&M school depends entirely upon that school's infrastructure and faculty. Do your research and go to the school that fits your needs best, regardless of "online" component.

There are both good and bad in both distance brick and mortar schools. And you would be surprised at the distance ed links with videos from medical schools that we used in NP school, lol!

Just look closely at the programs and compare. My local state university is partially on line - our first year all the didactic classes are on line - with some face time with profs via web cams, since it's local we can go in anytime and meet with them.
That said, Duke University and East Carolina University are both on line programs and both are very highly respected. in my case the local state university was more affordable and it offered the half on line half in person option with I decided to go with. Just make sure it meets all the criteria and prepares you well. There is something to be said about taking the classes and studying certain things on your own time schedule versus having to drive to campus and sit in class. On line are a lot easier if you work nights or odd days.
I'm already trying to schedule around the change that will occur next fall when we go to in person classes (all day tuesdays) plus adding in clinical time.

I attended SLU online and it is an excellent program. I had to work full time while going to school so it really wasn't an option for me. But I felt like I am as prepared as going to a conventional school. Getting ready to take the boards so we will see!
