  1. Hi! Does anyone take call as part of the job? I work as a hospitalist NP and we are extending into post acute care. NPs are being asked to take overnight call on the post acute patients. This is not part of our current compensation package. What is a fair amount for call pay? Thank you!
  2. Hello, I was just curious to see if you ended up going to USI? If so, how is it going?
  3. I have read really good things on this forum about the school. I was unable to get in because I needed to have my BSN by the application deadline, which was Feb. 1, and I don't graduate until this May. The tuition rate is excellent, which was why I really wanted to go there. I am going to University of Illinois-Chicago, which is local for me. I would say do some research on it, and maybe contact the school with the questions you can't get answered. Good Luck!
  4. I never got that email. Now I'm kinda worried..
  5. Did anyone apply to University of Southern Indiana for fall 2010? I am waiting to hear and wondered if anyone else is too? Thanks!
  6. Do you feel you received a quality education? Did you feel you got the education you needed to practice as a NP? I am waiting to hear if I was accepted to 2 schools. One local, and one online. Cost is a big issue. The local university will cost 36thousand, while the online school about 14thousand. There is a post on here about online schools having less quality. Is there a chance when looking for a job, there will be that thought?
  7. I am applying to ACNP programs, but does that mean that I will never be able to work outside the inpt setting? I am thinking someday I might want the outpt setting just not now? What are the thought on this? Is it possible to work outpt with the ACNP concentration? Thanks!
  8. How do you send a private message? I would love to ask you more questions about the program, graceofone, but can't figure out how to send a message- Thanks, Nikki
  9. Thanks for the info!
  10. I will finish in May from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. It's 385 per credit hours. You have to have 30 credit hours through them otherwise can take classes from other colleges, and transfer them in. I've enjoyed it. It's a pretty flexible program.
  11. I have been thinking of applying for fall 2010. Can you tell me how they described finding preceptors in your area?
  12. Jalexshoe, In the previous post it states you can't have a preceptor with someone you work for. I work with doctors at my hosptial, but not for them (like I'm exployed by the hosptial, not the dr). Can you use those drs as preceptors? Thanks, Nikki
  13. Those in this program, are you able to work while in it? It is not an option for me to just do school without working. How do you like USA? Any info would be great- I don't know where I should go to school! Thanks! Nikki
  14. Congrats! I was wondering if you could help me out, how do you like the program at St Louis University? I am thinking of applying to it, but need answers to questions... Thanks! Nikki
