I dunno about everybody else but placentas (while amazing as y'all have pointed out) are also....creepy/gross to me for some reason.
Surely that cannot be the most memorable part of having a child.........

I would rather see someone cut open from top to bottom than see a placenta :barf02:

Or genital warts, funky toenails, pustules, you name it...placentas not so much!! LOL

Just to be clear...this is not one of my patients. This is a random, anonymous, (questionable) photo that I found on the internet. While googling placentas...

A friend of mine thought I'd committed a major HIPPA violation (by taking a picture of my patient's breast placenta?--no idea how that would come up in practice...)

I wish I knew what the writing said. But why? Why why why? That so doesn't translate well to a tattoo. It looks like an alien.

I can't read the first one but it's a list of names. "..., Elliot, Paighton, Belle, Juniper Dae.

Though quite artistically rendered, it is quite possibly one of the most grotesque and inexplicable tattoos I have ever seen!

I believe the name looks like Todd or Telo?? Looks as if these are the names of her 3 children. I just tried googling "placenta tattoos" and I was quite surprised to learn that there are more people that have gotten this done.

For what it's worth, this person might actually have a reason for getting this particular tattoo. Most people just walk in a pick a butterfly off the wall!

Placentas are actually taken home and eaten by families in some cultures...

We've had moms come back and bring us baked goods made with breast milk. Hoping that placenta pancakes aren't to follow.
