This the path I take?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but CNM is a graduate program, meaning you can't really just get your ADN and then become certified as one. Also, if you just want to deliver babies why are you bothering to become a nurse?

As I said I am trying to get help and figure it all out. lastly I am not sure if I rather work in a OBGYN clinic as a NP or a hospital on labor/delivery unit and also deliver babies but NP have to have that CNM certification to deliver, so I "googled" I do know if I just want to work any clinic or any floor in a hospital as a NP I still have to start with Nursing first then get a master's to be a NP.

Are you in a nursing program?

Nursing students undergo a generalist education, which include pre requisite classes before core (major) classes; understand that you will have to completed those courses including maternity as a nursing degree is a well-rounded education.

Have you also shadowed a nurse or a CNM to get a feel of the position?

I honestly think the most important part of the equation is that you need to become a nurse first in order to do anything else, as you've seen. You're kind of putting the care before the horse. Are you currently in a nursing program? Have you done your OB rotation yet?

Before NP you will need a BSN, then go into a Women's Health NP program, then specialize, but first and foremost you will need some OB experience between getting your RN and going to NP school. Have you looked at the CNM forum here? There should be some good resources there.
