I am taking NRSE 4550 Spring 2 2013. Who else is in this class?

Hang in there everyone, it's hump week! We can do this! At the end of the week we'll be over halfway to the finish line!

Specializes in Critical Care, Pediatrics, & PACU.

There is the opportunity for 10 extra credit points this week in the independent/dependent variables assignment.

Specializes in Trauma.

Too bad the quizzes aren't as straight-forward as that extra credit assignment was! 100%-praise the lord :saint:

Specializes in peri-anesthesia services.

I know my IP DP. 100% first try, I needed that.

Specializes in Emergency, DD, Military.

I think we all needed that quiz as a motivator for the rest of the course. At least if our quiz grades don't improve, this will help.

I was seriously contemplating dropping that class!!! I am thrilled that they gave us that! I now have an A-which I am used to having! :lol2:

Amen!!! Hopefully the quizzes will make more sense. I can always narrow the answer to two choices and always seem to pick the incorrect one. We are closing in on the end of this class. Good luck everyone!

Ok can someone please help me understand the discussion. We are to have 2 discussions boards one due by Friday and one due by Sunday. Then we are to take a Quizz on Sunday.

If you mean the variable assignement that is more of a test. It is fairly simple and has extra credit, it can be taken multiple times. Otherwise I am not sure what you are talking about. Could you clarify?

Never mind I figured it out. I just hope I can make sense of this information that I am reading.

Hello to everyone. Make sure that you read all of the directions for the discussion board. There are multiple questions for this board. I have read this multiple times. they want the difference between the two designs, example of each, and why you would choose each one. They also want you to read the article and tell whether it is an experimental or quasi-experimental and give three reasons why. I also don't know if we are to include negatives and positives of the studies. Be very careful. I finished my discussion and was about to submit when I thought about reading the instructions once again. Good thing because I did not include some things on it.

Hi Everyone,

I'm soooo confused! Reading the study on teen mothers and infant massage, it says it involved a 2x2 mixed factorial design. First of all, I accept that I may be over complicating things (again); but if I understand this design there would be 4 arms in the study measuring two diffferent independent variables (oy). So, the indep variable would be experimental group with infant massage, control group no massage, that's two arms, what the heck would the other two be? Or does it even matter??? And am I completely alone in being totally lost on the tables and symbols? Statistics was two years ago, I'm in trouble!
