Things you'd LOVE to tell coworkers...and get away with it!

Please don't label this thread "negative". It is meant to be fun.

Your scrubs are ugly.

I don't think you are "cute" when you get all googley-eyed and giggly around the young docs. I think it makes nurses look bad.

I cannot BELIEVE you were nominated for A Daisy Award! Did you nominate yourself?

It's called deodorant, use it.

Do your own assessment and stop badgering me for every single detail during report.

I swear I am going to put Ex Lax all over my lunch so the next time someone calls out for the runs, I will know it is you who keeps stealing my food!

Yes, my stethoscope is nice and it was expensive. Buy your own.

No time to help me turn my patient, huh? Yet, every time you need help, I have been there for you.

Your situational awareness sucks. While you are browsing the latest deals on the internet, I am drowning. Look around and help out your coworkers.

I'm happy you look rested and ready for your shift. Next time get here 15 minutes earlier so I can leave on time and be rested and ready for you.

No, you don't ALWAYS get the crappy assignment. I don't think you'd be happy with ANY assignment.

If you're sooooo sick of this place- leave.

Yeah BrandonLPN, you might want to do a full minute there... it's important for respirations that you fully assess.

Oh yeah.. after the crudola I dealt with the other day.. I have to add some here.

"Good morning" is usually met with a return response "Good morning", not a grunt or by completely ignoring me.

How about you take report FIRST, then go heat up your oatmeal/coffee/whatever!

OH thank GOD you're here! You are fixer of the universe for sure!!! I'm glad you see that and act according to your almighty title!

Yes, everyone that works here IS stupid.. you are soooooo above it all! YAY you!!!

How about instead of bashing me for being TWO MINUTES late on my med pass.. you come down the hall and ask me if you can HELP! A new concept.. I know!

Guess what? Management's got your number! And,.. them and me.. yeah, we talk.. I know you tried to slander me and throw me under the bus.. funny thing though, they knew it wasn't true and YOUR head is now on the chopping block.

Whenever a CNA gives me vitals with a resident's respirations are "17" I always want to ask if they actually counted for a full minute or if they're just really bad at math.
What's wrong with 17?

Sounds like they counted for a full minute.

I'd be more worried if they got a BP of odd numbers on a manual cuff....

When I was in CNA class, we did have a gal get read the riot act for that one.

What I'd like to say is, "It's amazing how everyone is breathing a perfect 18!"

Just want to say I love this thread because it keeps me sane. It keeps me from saying something inappropriate to someone at work by getting it out here. That being said, here goes:

I find it really amusing that you left at least a quarter of your tasks for me to complete when you left yesterday yet when it was my turn to give you report you got mad I didn't tell you every minor detail that you could either see the second you walked in the patient's room or find right in front of your face in the chart.

How hard is it to complete the I/O? I mean really? If you take your patient to the bathroom (or even someone else's) dump the urinal and document ASAP before you forget or else leave it alone so someone else can see it and hopefully document it!! And even on your craziest days, you should have 2 minutes to look at the I/O record mid-shift. If it says your non-ARF, non-dialysis patient hasn't urinated in 12 hours, you should ask the patient if they've gone and it hasn't been documented. And don't look at me like I'm a crazy, unreasonable ***** for getting upset when the record says the "strict I/O" patient hasn't urinated for 15 hours!

Please, for the love of all that is Holy, if you are that unhappy with your chosen profession ( or just the job that you are doing now) just quit. I am sick of you sitting in the nurses station complaining about your assignment because you hate working with addicts, you hate working with borderlines, you hate work with the majority of our population. Maybe its not the best for you. No the manager isnt out to get you, shes just fed up with your attitude that you display on a daily basis.

At my very first job in this biz, I met a CNA who groused and b*tched about the work and the patients............and I actually DID say to her "If you resent people for being sick and/or infirm, maybe you're in the wrong kind of work. I think if our patients had their choice, most of them would a whole lot rather be healthy and ABLE." Needless to say, she got peeved at me, but it seemed so OBVIOUS to me.....ya don't LIKE it, at least a LITTLE bit, get out and work elsewhere!

I really enjoy when we work together! We help each other when it gets rough! You are a great mentor to me!!

To other coworkers: Is it too much to ask for you to clean the med cart up before I relieve you? Is it too much to ask to restock the cups and med syringes? Is it too much to ask to take down empty tube feeding bottles and restock those? It must be, because when I come in to work, you are always sitting down at the desk on the computer or on the phone with one of your kids. You always stay an hour past shift yaking and talking while on the clock................

To the person who looks at Media at work on the company computer: KNOCK it off!!!!! I don't care what you look at when you are in the privacy of your home, but at work especially since we work with disabled kids, just stop it. You are disgusting and I can not for the love of God figure out how you still have a job. Especially since we have a web filter and we can not even click on the local newspaper!!! How are they going around the web filter? Oh wait, it was on the browser tab.... this is why I never leave the computer logged in under my name when I am away from the nursing station.............

If you're going to complain about some one being wet/dirty when the shift first starts, then actually get on the floor and do walking rounds, instead of hanging out in the breakroom discussing how drunk you got, or how many people you slept with on your off time.

I think the 4th A&O is to situation, but I'm not certain.

I quite often get 15, 17 or some other not even number of resp rate.

I get nervous when I see that my counted resp rate is EXACTLY the same as the previous one- I hope people don't think I just copied the previous number ;)

Hey, nurse I had never worked with before; since I, as CNA, have exactly 3 times the number of patients per shift that you do, and I do not get updated on my patients by anyone but you, if one of your patients has switched to timed glucose checks, YOU NEED TO TELL ME THAT. Otherwise, I'll be going by the normal protocol.

Don't flip out on my for not having done a glucose check an hour and a half ago. If you wanted it an hour and a half ago, that would have been the time to ask for it:banghead:. I carry a phone all the time. You can call me at any minute of our shift and delegate what you need to delegate to me.

Don't berate me for something I had no way of knowing about. That's just straight up mean.
