Starting in the fall of 2001, my wife began her pre pre reqs for what would become a long journey. Today we have reached the end of one journey to begin another. Having graduated this past May, taken the Nclex last Thursday, we got the quick results on Saturday with a passing score.
We logged into the BON web site today, her R.N. Application had been approved and she now has a license number! I could not be more proud of her...:heartbeat Now onto job hunting...
Tomorrow, Im going to stop by our local Uniform place and pickup a nice R.N. PIN she can wear, as I am thinking she should save the Pin from her pinning ceremony and not wear that out anywhere. She also needs a new penlight.
Any one else find anything useful the first year? Perhaps now is the time to invest in a good Littmann, or do you think I should wait until after she finds a job?

Aw how sweet! Congrats to her.
I would wait on the new stuff though(not the pin, the Littman) since you don't know where she is going to end up working. Because if she ends up in peds or nicu its not going to be needed. When she gets a job you can buy her something that ties into that floor.

Tell her congrats! I would buy her something nice like a pin and a card and when she finds a job, let her go wild on buying scrubs and all the things that you needed. You sound just like my hubby, he actually cried when I got my license. I guess it was happiness and relief!
