U.S.A. Nevada

So.. I turned in my application about 2 weeks ago and the deadline hasn't even lapsed yet..dang it I want to know if I got in already!! :arghh: Anybody else on the same boat? I think we find out in May, right?

Hello all my fellow nursing students!

Do you remember how many points you had when you were an alternate?

Hi! I graduated from CSN in December of 2014. It was a fantastic program! I've been following these boards for 3 years now. Most Fall applicants find out in late April/Early May. The wait seems endless but once you get started the time will fly by in an instant. I was in your shoes 2.5 years ago and I'm getting ready to start my first RN job tomorrow morning. It will be tough but so worth it! Let me know if you have any questions with anything. Good luck!

HI christina731,

I am not planning to go to CSN, BY spring of 2017! I knows its more than 1 year, all I need to do is my science class, which un fortunately I can't even do 2 class each sem, as we all know the bio classes are prereqs on each other, BUT for someone who wants to go nursing, I'll take that!

NURSING isn't my first choice of major, and that why I never took the bio classes before, to make my story short, I was in a medical field program too, until I volunteered at the hospital and RN's took my attention and my whole as a person, wanted to change my major! The funny thing about this is when I was asking my co volunteer, ( who will start ADN program this Spring 2016) ask me if I have to start all over again if I switch major, ( which in my CASE NOT!) IT took like 21 credits off my program, and the only classes I need to take are all the BIO classes! What a coincidence.

I got so scared of my friend finishing their degree and can't even find a job, and the degree I was aiming at was not really a type of job to find a job. I took that program coz I had a baby that time and wanted to do something in my life, I never thought I could tell myself that I wanted t be nurse, until I started volunteering for the hospital! It hit me soo hard! and I have to be honest and not be hypocrite as well! The pay is really good and will take good care of my son and me! ( I'm a single mother) I love what they do at the hospital and wanted to be like them one day!

Is it true that ADN grads will have hard time finding ajob in a hospital ( than bsn grads?) Is it relly hard to get into this program? what are the typical points of people who got into the program?

Thank you so much..

I went to CSN when they points were different. I had 32/36 points I believe. GPA was like 3.8.

As far as a job goes, I got an interview at my current hospital as a CNA during my clinical day in med surf 1. I now work at the same hospital as an ADN RN and am about to start orienting for charge RN. I was hired immediately. If you can work as a CNA in a hospital while in school you will have no problem getting hired with an ADN
