Hi! I graduated from CSN in December of 2014. It was a fantastic program! I've been following these boards for 3 years now. Most Fall applicants find out in late April/Early May. The wait seems endless but once you get started the time will fly by in an instant. I was in your shoes 2.5 years ago and I'm getting ready to start my first RN job tomorrow morning. It will be tough but so worth it! Let me know if you have any questions with anything. Good luck!

Hello! I'm so anxious to find out, I'm sure you know the feeling! How hard was it to find employment after nursing school? Where did you find a job? ( it you don't mind me asking)I hear the market in vegas is a little tough for new grads..did you go full time or pt for school?

For me it was not difficult at all. A week after I got licensed I went to job fairs at Valley and Spring Valley hospitals. I interviewed with MedSurg at both and IMC at Valley. I was offered a MedSurg position at Spring Valley on the spot during my interview which I accepted. I was offered the other two positions within the next week. I also received several calls for interviews at various other hospitals/ltc/rehab facilities. It was not difficult for me to find a job whatsoever. There are several other people from my cohort who are employed now as well. I got VERY lucky with my job and offers but if you try hard the jobs are out there. I went to school full time once I started the nursing program. Prior to that I was part time. It took me 10 years to get my prereqs done.

I'm applying for Spring '16 so I've just been stalking the other cohorts boards for a year while I've been doing my pre-reqs. How many points to you apply with?

It took me a while to finish my pre reqs as well but hey better late than never!

I applied with 37 points to the extended track.. Have you taken your teas yet?

I got an 84.7 on my teas. I think I'm going to retake it after this semester. I'll have everything done except A&P 2 and previous medical experience. I WAS a licensed massage therapist and went to school but they don't count that. I'll have 30 points, maybe 31? That's what the cut off of a guaranteed spot was for spring 2015 and I think they're lowering their number of accepted students. That's why I'm thinking of retaking the teas, to get those extra 1 or 2 points I'm missing and could have.

I applied as well (full time), but unfortunately at the limited entry application orientation we were given misinformation that Math 100B would still get the 10 points Math 120 gets (it does not). I was under the assumption I had 32 points, now I'm told it's only 22. Anyone else run into this problem? A girl at my orientation SPECIFICALLY asked about this and we were told the wrong answer. Sooooo frustrating! Not gonna hold my breath for a phone call í ½í¸”

That is horrible. The orientation I went to about year ago they had JUST changed to the policy that Math 120 is required, so it was gone over many times. I'm so sorry that happened. In fact, I think Math 120 is one of the pre-reqs that needs to be done before you enter the program. Sounds like you may be applying with me!

Tell me about it! I'm taking Math 120 and Com 101 this semester now, but had I known I would have taken Math last semester and been all set. Done with all the other pre reqs. Ugh...

I'm taking A&P 1 and micro this semester. I was looking forward to having the summer off and just having one class in the fall before starting the real insanity, but decided to start on the rest of the classes required at NSC for their bridge program. So I'll be taking 2 classes over the summer and chemistry with A&P 2 during the fall.

It says on the online nursing selection criteria paper that math 120 or higher gets you the 10 points.. It's crazy the application orientation speaker didn't know this and gave out false information.
