I was considering going through this university for my RN- BSN.... The school claims the program is only 13 months and 6,450 if all you need are your core nursing classes... If you need pre-reqs it can still take you as little as 13 months, but it's an extra 349.00 per course... This seems very reasonable... Just wondering if anyone has gone through this program or is currently doing this program?

could someone please help me.i am havinf a hard time finding an online pmhnp program i need help please!

I am interested in this program as well. How do you guys like it so far? I have a couple of questions for anyone who can answer them, I know I should ask the advisor, but I can't seem to get ahold of them at the moment.

1. Someone told me you need to be an RN for a year before you can get into the program. I told them they were crazy, I haven't read this anywhere, any ideas?

2. Do they accept most applicants, I am going to apply, but I don't want to take the Intro to Nursing, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology courses and then be waitlisted for 6 months.

3. On the website it says the program cannot be completed in less than 13 months. I figured if you have all your general education courses done and doubled up on classes you would be able to do it, any input?

How hard was Care of the Vulnerable Populations? Did you use your community book alot during the course? I'm trying to figure out whether I should purchase the book or not. Please get back to me I have so many questions..

1. I passed my NCLEX about 4 days into my first class and I didn't have a job until 4 months later.

2. Are you talking about the RN-BSN program? Those were all course I took during my ASN degree and didn't need to retake before starting this program.

3. I had all but 2 core classes and then the 9 nursing classes - I will be finished in 10 months.(fingerscrossed)

kcdunlap, since posting my initial post I have answered the first couple questions I had, and I have mostly answered the third. According to the enrollment specialist at UTA you are able to double up on nursing classes if your counselor approves. My only remaining question is about the nursing classes. How difficult do you find the classes, particularly after doubling up on them. My only remaining decision is whether I should start the RN-BSN program within the same week that I begin my first nursing position (ICU), or if I should put school off for 6 months until I've gotten comfortable in my position. Any advice?

I've double up without issue since the first nursing class. The first time I've found it an issue is this session. Vulnerable Populations and Nursing Research....hard. My counselor told me it was up to me and just remember they could be time consuming.

My first position is home care overnight. Which helped my decision to double up my classes. I am able to study during my time at work which most nurses are not able to do. You might want to give it at least a session to get settled and then decide.

Hi,

Care of the Vulnerable populations was the most challenging of all the classes I have taken and many students also complained about this class. It was intense, detailed and involved some type of community projects so it was pretty time consuming. The textbook was of little help when it came to the quizzes. To me, I thought the quizzes were a bit difficult but that's just me. Though I ended up doing well in the class, it was my least favorite class.

I haven't struggled with any class except vulnerable populations which I"m currently taking. I flat out failed the first quiz....haven't failed any quizzes to date. Can't figure out where they came up with the questions. I have to finish the second quiz today and have no idea what to study. The amount of work involved in a single week is unbelievable. Plus the previous weeks work wasn't turned back until after I turned in the next week so I couldn't even try to accommodate the errors. I can't wait to get finished and just pass this silly class.

I am also in vulnerable pop right now and it is so time consuming! I am really struggling to get everything done. I am taking it with holistic care of the older adult which is much easier but I would still recommend taking V.P. by itself. I was going to take Research and Leadership&management next time but now I worried about doubling up again.

What does everyone know about Capstone?

Oh brilliant me is taking the two together!!! It has to be the worst 5 weeks ever. Nursing research is a GROUP PROJECT CLASS. The entire thing is done as a group. It is making me climb the walls. I hate depending on others. My group rarely emails and I'm praying for it to end.

Group Project Class, interesting concept to say the least. Are you allowed to choose the members in your group or are they randomly selected?
