I was considering going through this university for my RN- BSN.... The school claims the program is only 13 months and 6,450 if all you need are your core nursing classes... If you need pre-reqs it can still take you as little as 13 months, but it's an extra 349.00 per course... This seems very reasonable... Just wondering if anyone has gone through this program or is currently doing this program?
I agree! I'm experiencing that same "I don't give a D*#N" Attitude from my Academic Advisor. She's always so unavailable and never answers/returns my calls (she may respond every now and then to an email). She is not encouraging AT ALL to be an advisor. It has caused me to postpone starting the program several times because I feel I wont get the support and "Advice" I undoubtedly will need throughout the program. What keeps be interested is the price! It's very difficult to find a program that has a set price for the combined nursing portion of the program. I plan to actually start this month with 1 class and see how it goes then maybe pick up more next session. I'll also look into taking some of my needed general classes at a CC to cut down on the costs because I see that's where UTA is getting folks.
Hey, I will be starting UTA on Jan 30. Im taking Art. I will post how what I think as I progress thru the program. In Feb, I will be taking Prof A & B anf technical writing.
I am also going to be starting Art next week, hopefully it will not be too bad. I am taking the Assessment class right now so I will be doubling up next week. You will be very busy in Feb with three classes at once! I think it is manageble, but busy.
Ive started my second semester in the RN-BSN program. My first sem was Texas govt and Technical Writing. This semester, I have Professional nursing A and B, Algebra, and Federal govt. 3 classes is manageable. I also work 3 12.5 hour dayshifts in the ICU. I do not have kids and I have social life.
I am planning on tripling up my classes as much as I can. I only have History and Psych left for pre-reqs as well as my nursing classes. I have my CCRN certification, so I won't have to take a nursing elective course.
Has anyone completed this RN-BSN program in 8-9 months?

I started Oct 2011 for a stats class and then Nov 2011 start for Prof nursing A. I figure I will be finished end of July 2012. I'm taking a double for the this 5 week and the following 2. I'm fortunate to only have needed the nursing classes plus one stats class. So, it will take me approx 8-9 months.
