The University of British Columbia (UBC) BSN 2025 Entry

Published

Hi! Thought it would be helpful to make a thread for students planning on applying for UBC's Nursing Program for 2025!

Thank you! Just curious, do the supplemental essays need to be really well written? Im not sure how to go about them

One more note on preparation as stated prior in chat is revise, revise, and revise. How does it read? Is your thought process logical? Is the content all-encompassing expressing your values, personal experiences, and hard and soft skills that could be applicable to nursing?

Thank you so much for the help! I've been revising a lot and its looking much better now. I did get my casper back and got 3Q so kinda bummed over it but hopefully a strong supplemental application can work its magic

Hey everyone! I just got my casper test back and I got 4th quartile!

However, I'm still working on my human anatomy and physiology grade. Does anyone know when that must be submitted by?

One more thing: please note if you took anatomy and physiology at UBC, this was my experience so confirm by emailing advising, there is no further submission of anatomy and physiology requirement necessary as they already have your transcript. However, if anatomy and physiology was completed at another institution, it would be necessary to submit the mark there via the HAP form mentioned in my prior post. Please note HAP form deadline has passed however. For further inquiries, your best resource is UBC Nursing Advising.

Seems like they extended the deadline for 2025 fall. Could it be because they have fewer applicants this year?

Possibly. That said, still give your best shot at your application. No one ever really knows how competitive that given year was as there can be last minute changes among other factors (beyond my comprehension :p), and spread the net wide by also looking at other programs. I think UBC is great if you're looking to pursue credentials beyond an RN such as MSN, PhD, and NP. Each program has its own strengths and weaknesses, so always best to research what you are looking for in a program and giving it your best shot.

Thank you! I am interested in NP Program after bsn so UBC seems to be a great choice for me. I applied to BCIT but they didn't accept my courses so im down to one school now. Also I ended up submitting my application yesterday because I was scared of not meeting the deadline but they extended it today..haha.. The longg wait begins now

This thread also seems less crowded compared to previous years. I think less people applied this year. Not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing for us loll

That's great that UBC fits your values for what you want for your post-graduate plans! The wait is grueling (been there done that) and during that time I would look at other options. For me, I was seeing who would say yes first in terms of whoever would accept me first is where I would go. If you are in the Vancouver area, I would also look at Langara as another option as a back up and they have rolling admissions for intake throughout the year.

Despite the wait, if there are any other inquiries, feel free to drop them here and I will be happy to help to the best of my ability.
