Hi! Thought it would be helpful to make a thread for students planning on applying for UBC's Nursing Program for 2025!

I was just wondering whether anyone knows if receiving a conditional offer requires only that we complete the CPR training, vaccinations, etc. or if they re-assess grades based on the final transcript as well? Has anyone heard of anyone having their offer revoked or re-evaluated due to grades? Thanks!!

I don't have concrete authority on this but my experience was get the pre-requisites done such as CPR training, vaccinations, and criminal record check, and if for whatever reason you have difficulty doing so, contact the school directly via their admissions email and explain your situation. Work with them and they will work with you kind of thing. Communication is key so they know you have not given up your spot and you are actively pursuing it.
Offers can get wait-listed, and where I do cannot say based on revocations, I do know wait-listed people can get off the wait-list as more folks choose other institutions freeing up slots.
As for your grades, the admission average to my understanding was up to the cut-off that was indicated on the official site. As for your further grades, just make sure you pass the pre-requisites and my understanding is that they are not factored into the average calculation but please be aware I advocate you try hard anyways because policies may have changed and in any event, finishing strong shows a good work ethic and that you are trying your best throughout regardless of what "counts" and what "doesn't."

Just pass. Apparently it doesnt contribute to the GPA they use for the "last 30 credits".

That's pretty high up the list! People get off the list historically so just hold on and keep getting those prerequisites done. As a fail safe also get your apps done for other places.

Hey, just wanted to say hi to everyone and confirm that yes, acceptance letters have been sent out; I just got mine! I'm so stoked to meet all of you next September!

It just takes one school to say yes. I applied to three, BCIT, Langara, and UBCV, so just keep at those applications and just remember there are so many opportunities out there for schooling and we all get the same license at the end of the day!

I got an offer! I know offers are conditional, but at what point is it confirmed and cannot be revoked?

Congratulations! Getting the prerequisites completed as soon as possible and staying in continuous contact via email with admissions to make sure things go through would be your best option to ensure your offer goes through. To my knowledge, there's no solid date where everything is considered solid other than obviously I think late August but even then there can be last-minute changes of people giving up their spot and other people joining in so just staying in constant contact with admissions is so important. It's important to know if they will get an influx of emails at this time and to give them time to respond. Congratulations again and see you in September!

Thank you! Should I wait for further instructions before emailing then? I completed my pre requisite courses so I should be fine right
