Let's challenge ourselves to make birth control widely available and affordable for all vulnerable women.  Let's fully fund social programs that support, feed and educate our poor and vulnerable children.  Let's fully support social programs that support single mothers in terms of paid time off work, low cost childcare and preschool.

Those are the ways that we reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies...fewer unwanted pregnancies result in fewer abortions.

This is what does my head in. The same people who went after Roe V Wade and who claim to want to reduce abortion are now trying to prevent free access to birth control.

Stats show that if people have access to comprehensive birth control it reduces abortion rates.

They need to be honest and admit that its about controlling women and their bodies. It's still gross and disgusting, but for them to be 'we are all about the rights of the unborn child, yet we don't want to do anything about supporting the child once its born" is so dishonest its not funny

Please explain how funding social programs will decrease unwanted pregnancies?  There are plenty of folks who want to put Planned Parenthood out of business.  The teen pregnancy rates have dropped precipitiously since 2008.  No one has the answer as why although many postulate the economy crash of 2008 since that is time the decline started.  The federal program has had programs in place for decades to decrease this trend so I don't know why you think nobody is working on this problem.

Did I say that nobody is working on this problem or did I make statements about improving our social support of women and children to decrease the desire for abortions.  We can and should do much better.
