The Story of Jahi Continues

Published

Then again, there are some people who will do close to anything for a paycheck. Scary, sad & true.

I do not think low of a nurse that chooses to take care of Jahi that needs to pay her rent and eat!

Many nurses in this area are OUT of work.

If that is what they need to do,as long as it IS legal, who arm i to say anything?

How do you know it is fact? Because I don't believe it!

What nurse would agree to corpse care?

Lets just say i KNOW and am 100% certain she gets Private Duty Nursing 24/7.

I am a Private Duty Nurse myself...maybe YOU can connect the dots.

I mentioned this some months back btw.

Besides,it was mentioned in a newspaper article too.

Nurses are supposed to take care of living patients, not corpses. It's hard enough when a patient is being kept alive a few days waiting for organ donation, but 15 months? That's so very wrong.

Again, I don't believe it. I do not believe that there are any nurses caring for her, I think the family is lying and without proof, I am not going to believe it. And I'm not the only one.

There is a heck of a lot mentioned in newspapers that are untrue. Especially when the scam fam and Dolan is twisting things for the media attention that they want. If you are a PDN taking care of Jahi you wouldn't be allowed to say so due to HIPAA, and you can say it is a fact, but most people don't believe it.

They discontinued life support and this woman was allowed to RIP after a neurologist chosen by the family confirmed she was dead.

Gooselady, you don't believe in brain death?

I believe in brain death, and brain coma too, as well as brain atrophy, which is the state my brain entered some time ago. I anticipate atrophy to lead to coma, and every day I breathe gets me one day closer to brain death. That's why I sleep when I can, as much as I can. Practice makes perfect.

While jobs are hard to come by, I would NOT take a job & lower my standards to take care of an animated corpse. I'm a nurse, not a coroner or mortician.

Irrespective of Jahi's condition or need for care, I could not take care of her because of her family. That is the kind of family that will use and abuse their nurses. Heaven only knows what would be around the corner. I do not trust them at all.

Very good point, although from what I have read about this mother, if she were to have care in the home, I would bet she would use it as respite care and take off!

There is something to be said for the family member(s) who disappear all shift, every shift. Typically the type of clients I prefer, provided other behaviors are not present.

Most parents with Pdn do take off,and they usually run errands.

We are there in the home so they can have a break.

Of course, but then MOST pdn nurses care for live patients and Jahi is very much dead.

Sorry, smartnurse, still don't believe it.
