You're silly. :) I've never seen that movie but I remember the trailers.
Battle voodoo? Why not? I do everything else.
This made me laugh, I was thinking about this one little old man that had a swollen scrotum after surgery and I told him we should elevate it. I rolled up the towel for him and told him to put in a comfortable position. His wife told me they'd feel so much better if someone with training did it. Glad that nursing degree was good for something...positioning swollen scrotums. :) what a cute little couple they were.
I watched the Skeleton Key also last night. It is a good movie, I have seen it a few times now. I would say that if all those things were going on (Brick Dust, chickens, voodo records playing, things written on sheets and than disappearing, and hair being cut off in your sleep) and being asked crazy questions like the lady did in the movie (Ex: You all scared up ain't ya, I know you young folks like to use needles on yourselves). I would have been out of there. I would have felt sorry for the pt but I would've had to go (running very fast).
It's Hoodoo, not Voodoo;). The latter is a religion and the former just a "hand-me-down" collection of magics and the like. My great-great grandmother was a conjurer (Native American Hoodoo).
And, no, I would not get involved in the cultural beliefs like Kate Hudson's character did. I'd respect it, but no way I'd "play the game".

This question is for anyone that ever saw the skeleton key. Nurses are supposed to be the pt's advocate so would you do what kate hudson did for a pt? Battle voo doo and such lol
