We have been told that it is no longer all multiple choice. We were also told that the questions that are multiple choice may have more than one correct answer. If, you much choose all correct answers. If you only choose one correct answer and there are two that are correct, then you get the question wrong. There is no partial credit for the one correct answer.
I got an explination on whats going on from one of my instructors the other day....
Everytime someone takes the NCLEX, we are giunea pigs for new questions. Given that a person takes a 75 question test, 15 of those questions are being "tried out" and are not even considered in the scoring of the person taking the test.
These short answer/touchscreen question more then likely will be on the NCLEX this year, but won't affect your scoring, they are just trying the questions out to see how well they work, etc.
So no fear guys, they aren't changing it permanently yet!
We were told basically that NCLEX is being "revised" maybe this April. Of course the way it comes across everyone paniced! Our instructors said "not to worry" and to focus on class and clinicals for now...they will update us as needed. I'm not gonna worry about it...if I "know my stuff" there shouldn't be a problem. It's not as if they won't tell you to select "all that apply" they don't expect us to be pyschic!

I am stressing over the new NCLEX. I have heard that there are no study books available for this. Has anyone seen any? Our teachers really don't have much information on it either. They have told us that there will be touch screen pictures and math. I would feel so much more comfortable with the old multiple choice. If anyone has any info, please, please share. :) I'll stil use my olf NCLEX books to study, but I would love to have one in the new format.
Thanks, Lisa
