Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:
1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?
2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?
3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.
Not much left to add. Says it all.
1. Do you deserve to be a nurse?2. Are you truly stupid? Then, no.
3. Start over, please. Because you need more education.
And I have a very low tolerance for whining. No matter who you are.
A little filler - -1. how many times were you possibly DUI before you got caught?
2. big difference in an occassional goof-up or constantly being unawares
3. you are scaring me. Just what is the problem??
Sorry, just my take on these issues......
Wanted to give you a "Like" for this, but the system won't let me.
Always nice to know where the wind of nursing blowing from one minute to the next..... Some of this is revealing, thinking that nurses believe they are too dumb to be a nurse, and being a repeat NCLEX taker, somehow prevents you from being a nurse, well folks, you can keep taking that test until you passed, and you will be the best test taker by the end. The best nurse comes only with experience.
I had a patient in triage the other day who said he had always wanted to be an RN. He said "I'm not particularly smart but I have read a lot of Stephen King novels and am good with my hands". I did not really want to know where he was headed with that comment! So maybe nursing and serial killers have a lot in common ?????

I'm still going with my theory of nursing today mirroring the Roman Empire.
Good times.
