The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

I am from California and am going to an Accelerated BSN program in Kentucky. I am a single mom to an 8 month old and the scholarship would be heaven-sent!
i think being a single parent is a big part of why I got an EFC of 0..but i dont really know what all qualifys you for it. Me and my kids live very modestly so I don't have to work while in school ( we eat beans bc its cheaper than meat!) so right now my income is only from child support which is very low sooo I know for me personally the efc of 0 seems to be justified.
Hello all! I applied for the scholarship as well. I am from the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania. I am attending an ADN program at my community college starting the end of August. I am a single mommy to my wonderful 2 yr old daughter. Just as everyone else, I really hope to get this scholarship, I need all the help I can get! Good luck to all!
It's not exactly online banking, but it is required to supply bank info and have the money direct deposited.
Yeah, I contacted the call center and was told that the banking portion would be the last stages of the scholarship process, thank God because I thought I had missed something in the application.
I am married with 2 kids and my husband works full time while i stay home with the kids. He doesnt have a high paying job anything but he supports us just fine and I still have a EFC of 0. I don't know where the 0 comes from but I think having children drop the number big time. Good luck everyone!
I believe that the EFC is calculated based on how large your family is (ie how many dependents), how many are in college, and how much the total income for the household is. They calculate how much "extra" money should be able to go towards an education. You can still have income, but they know that the majority of it goes towards living expenses and such. Thats why more kids, lower EFC. Higher income, less or no kids...higher EFC. I have only one child but based on my income last year, the FAFSA people gave an EFC of 0 because they believe I don't have any money to spare for schooling (which is right because I got laid off while on maternity leave!). Schools can use the EFC to see how much of a deficit you have to pay for the total cost of the program. Something like that.
Anyway good luck to everyone! I wish there was a faster turnaround on the decisions!!!!!

Does anybody know what is a considered high EFC is???? I really don't understand how someone gets an EFC of 0. This whole EFC thing is so confusing. I though EFC's of 0 would be rare, but it seems as though quite a few people have them. At this point I'm not going to stress over it because I can't change what I can't control, and my EFC is out of my control. If I somehow through a miracle get the scholarship great, but I've come to grips with the fact that I'll have to fund my education with private loans, especially since I'm in an accelerated program and we're not allowed to work. Que sera sera!
Best of luck to all applicants!
