Hi All!
I'm a crazy father of 2 ex-premed who just recently turned down Northwestern to go into a RN program.
I already have an Associate in Science, but I'll be getting another ADN and then go to a 4 yr school.
When I went to an info session about the RN program ill be trying to get into, out of like 70 ppl only 5 were guys.
So I want to know are there any men out there?
Excellent. Thanks for the information Danny.
Corey,Yes, I had to write a personal statement. I bought a "writing a winning personal statement" booklet so I could use to get some ideas. After I was done, I sent it to a couple of my friends asking for their opinions and feedback. You'll be surprised with some of the little mistakes and great ideas they discover. Be sure to do it early so you could have time to adjust any not-so-good idea or grammatical problems.
Hey fellas!!!!
Add another guy member 2 this great site. I'm a new RN (since July2003) working on a respiratory/cardio/renal MS floor. This has been my 1st experience in the hospital setting. Before becoming an RN, I worked as a LPN in long term care since 1998. I loved geriatric nursing but I did everything in LTC that I wanted 2 accomplish. Prior 2 being a LPN... I also worked as a CNA in LTC and was a home health aide for hospice.
Just wanted 2 say thank U 2 Agent 4 starting this site. I want 2 wish Agent and all nursing students much success in LPN or RN school. It will definitely be a difficult journey. I remember working full-time, not spending time w/ my wife, and just sacricficing was very difficult. Just remember one thing.... don't ever give up. IF U have the right attitude and determination.... U guys will make it.
Anyways.... look 4ward 2 visiting this site on a regular basis. I love women but it feels great 2 C other guys in R field. Take care.... FELLAS and look 4ward 2 hearing from U.
Hello all,I'm hopefully starting class in July for LPN, was wondering if any one else is working 40+ hrs plus school and being a father.
That's where I'm about to go, was hoping to get some insight.
Thanks!
Let's see ... 40+ hours per week of work, 3 kids and going to school ... yup, I feel your pain.
