Hi All!

I'm a crazy father of 2 ex-premed who just recently turned down Northwestern to go into a RN program.

I already have an Associate in Science, but I'll be getting another ADN and then go to a 4 yr school.

When I went to an info session about the RN program ill be trying to get into, out of like 70 ppl only 5 were guys.

So I want to know are there any men out there?

Live free and don't let the woman keep you down:chair:

Blessings

Dia dhuit, Pete mate. I'm here in Seattle, starting to look into nursing schools (I'm just starting the pre-requisite courses now, so I've got some time). Can you find out a bit more about specific locations? From Seattle to San Francisco's about 14 hours drive!

What is a fast track ADN program? I thought the ADN program was a fast track by its pure nature that it is a 2 year degree? Please enlighten us. :)

general nursing 95% female 5% male, CRNA 55-60% female 40-45% male, thats where we go to hang out I guess.

The FasTrack program is new at Austin Community College. You do the same pre-reqs as other ADN programs but your nursing school is compressed into 4 back to back 15 week semesters 2 weeks between semesters. No summer or winter break just 2 weeks between each. It only takes 16 months to get your ADN once in the program. They only take 20 students per semester and I'm in the first class starting this fall. The only downside is that some of your lecture courses must be taken online because of time constraints.

Whose time constraints? Yours? :chuckle That sounds like a grueling schedule, man! Good luck. Check in whenever your head bobs above water to let us know how it's going. What are the clinicals like?

Wow - good luck! I struggled to get through my ADN program because of all the reading and all the learning I needed to do. Your program sounds really tough and only the best will survive. Good luck. See you on the other side. :)

Thanks! I think I'll need all the luck I can get. The only reason I'm doing it is because I'm 28 and I set a goal to be a licensed CRNA by the time I'm 35!! Besides, if I fail my girlfriend will have been supporting me all this time for nothing, and I value my life too much to let that happen!! :rotfl:
