I had 2 experiences this week with 2 WW2 vets. The first gentleman was the youngest of SIX brothers, all of whom went overseas and only 2 came back. He was still getting choked up talking about it with me this week.
My next gentleman, won the purple heart in the South Pacific..His photo with his platoon was on the cover of Life magazine which I got to see in his room.
My husband has been working with the Iraq/Afghanistan, Korean & Vietnam vets and frequently comes home pretty choked up about it. Oh yeah, he's also a vet, Persian Gulf.
Thanks to all of you who served and let's remember those who paid the ultimate price..
I also know it's not Veteran's Day but my Vet patients this week helped me to remember why we have Memorial day!

Earlier this month I volunteered to do health screenings on homeless veterans. It was definitely an eye-opening and humbling experience, but I am glad I did it.
