Congratulations Shery, RN, You did it. Take a bow and enjoy it. I also found out I passed today. I am in Seventh Heaven, Xanadu, on Mt. Eutopia, Cloud Nine, and what ever other saying you can come up with. I even more my scrub shirt to work today (but then put on the non embroidered one) that had my name with RN on it!!! And Congratulations!!1

Ok...let me preface this with "I'm really not trying to be rude"....

but 6 times?.....I'm just wondering what you felt might have been your difficulty? Is is test taking in general....or lack of preparation...or do you feel there was something lacking in your nursing program? I am just curious (not criticizing) as I have noticed many folks on here who have had to take NCLEX multiple times and I'm wondering what the prevailing issue is.

For me, it was a combination of all of the things you mentioned: during the first attempt, not really being able to get a handle on how to prepare for NCLEX & worked nightshift, which is NOT my gig. The second time, I had a study plan, but obsessed over trying to cover every single thing that I could. I obsessed to the point that I hardly got anything done. The third time, I studied, in addition to saying positive affirmations. My university did not offer any sort of NCLEX prep course. Now they offer the ERI course for students.

Congrats to you both, Sheryl and Adam!! A very great accomplishment!

Congragulations to you!!!!!:balloons: :balloons:

ok i have heard that if you fail the rn boards three times that you have to go back to school is this true or does it depend on the state?

I don't believe this is true. There are a few people here who failed the NCLEX 3x and they didn't mention going back to school. Anyone know? Maybe you could go back for remedial help, but I don't believe you need to repeat nursing school all over again.

Congratulations to you!!!!!! :)

Hope I don't have to take it 6 times, don't think I could afford it.

ok i have heard that if you fail the rn boards three times that you have to go back to school is this true or does it depend on the state?

This is not true of all states. In my state, if you fail 3 times, you have to go back through a review course at your college--but only go through the parts that are causing difficulty on NCLEX. For this reason, several people go to a neighboring state because you can test there an unlimited number of times, without having to take a review course.

I have been puting off retaking the NCLEX-RN for months now. Seeing your success story is uplifting and I will most likely reread it everyday til mt test date!! Wishing happiness and continued success in your new career!

Do you mind to tell me what state you live in? Just want to make sure to tell my friends about the review class. Which states you know that could take Nclex unlimit time? Thank you!!
