hopeless sometimes and blaming myself being not smart enough to pass. or God is not

letting me to pass because im a sinner. cant stop thinking what to do.. HeLP!!! thanks

I'm going to be blunt and speak openly here.

The most important question is - how sure are you that this is the right profession for you?

Ironically, the one who had to retake the NCLEX 4times might be the one most appreciative when she finally does her pass. There might even be more appreciation for the pains of getting the license and value it more which in turn will show through her work ethics. But these are all suppositions...

In life, there are no absolutes; it could fall either way.

I know someone who failed 4 times and had been a nurse for 20 plus years now. It's the principal , if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it , deliverance is everything , and we all learned empathy . Put yourself in this person shoes. When someone's down you don't kick them . Keep it to yourself. Go tell ya wall . I hope our 5th time test taker uses the haters as motivation and doesn't let negative ppl get to him or her . I'll pray for you && the ppl that said what they said

Sometimes, the nicest thing you can do for a person is tell them the truth, even if it hurts. Some people are not meant to be nurses. They can keep pushing for it forever, but it's just going to be a waste of time. Why is it best to say nothing to that person? If one person had been honest and said "Maybe this field isn't for you", that might be enough to get them to look at their life and really figure it out.

I'm kind of in agreement with that poster. If you've failed it 4 or 5 times, you SHOULD be rethinking your choices. Maybe it's a matter of a language barrier. Maybe study habits. Maybe lack of seriousness. Maybe lack of education. Whatever the reason, it's looking like a futile effort. Not trying to be mean, trying to be helpful!

Hi, congratulations! I took my exam day before yesterday on 25th of Nov. My computer stopped on 75 questions ad I was confident that I will pass my exam. But when see my result on quick results through online it said fail. I can't believe it. I want to review my results. Is it possible that quick results could be wrong. I want to review my results but I don't know how. So disappointed. Please help me.

Syani it looks like you are in the wrong thread. And no there's no way you can review your questions, whatever the results you get those are the right ones.

The NCLEX is a written test that I honestly feel is a poor way to license people. There are people who are GREAT clinically but struggle with tests. Also some of the questions...I don't know. Here is a practice one from my school:

1.) A client is scheduled for a cardiac catherization using a radiopaque dye. Which of the following assessments is most critical before the procedure?

A. Intake and output

  1. Baseline peripheral pulse rates
  2. Height and weight
  3. Allergy to iodine or shellfish

Okay, so I chose D because iodine is found in the dyes and an allergy to the dye is no bueno. But guess what the "real" answer is? C, according to the answer key: Height and weight! If the NCLEX questions are anything like the one above, I'm going to be screwed and I'm a decent test taker.

Nursing in real life rarely follows "textbook" nursing, but that is what the NCLEX is testing you on: do you know how to nurse by the book? Don't think about what you would do, think about what you "should" do in regards to test-taking.

Good luck! And remember, JFK's son didn't pass the bar on his first or second time either, but eventually passed and went on to be a lawyer. J.K Rowling was rejected twelve times before a publisher accepted her morificecript, and we all know how successful Harry Potter became.

If your computer shuts off in 75 it either means you did too good or you did too bad. The computer usually let's you continue after 75 if it's not sure, but when you are doing too good or too bad the computer doesn't have the need to ask you're more question.

What was the rational to that question?

What was the rational to that question?

The question was in our weekly email news letters, so no rationale was provided. I'm hoping that was a typo.

It's not that. Learn how to talk to ppl something you learn before nursing school . But thank you ; )

You should do the same as well; been in this business for a while...I'm pretty good at talking to ppl; my post was positive towards you. No harm no foul. :)

Not sure what TONE you are reading in...

&& FYI I tried that the first 2 times , so I decided to try something different cause I didn't succeed wl that method

Like I stated before, you have the info from nursing school; be confident in that...

I referred to my OP because if you have weaknesses, start there; reviewing-not memorizing-questions and rationales is your best bet.

This.

Sorry and hope you pass some day.

That said, I honestly believe there should be a limit on how many times you can take this test. It's not that difficult. Rather than all the drama arguing over BSN vs. ADN and all the other pathways into the profession, I would love to see them limit the test to one chance to pass. Either you pass or you don't. Then no one can argue about one degree or the other. You proved yourself and that should be the end of it.

Yeayou say that until your the one that failed. Wow! people really do judge on this site. When you are hired as a new nurse, you will get extensive training and if your preceptor dont think your ready to be on your own then you probably wont get of orientation.

But that's the thing! I wasn't the one who failed.
