Texas Tech Spring 2014 RN-BSN

Published

Hey y'all, I got accepted into Texas Tech RN- BSN for January 2014 and was wanting to start a thread for us to stay in contact and also, if anyone has any advice on things to anticipate.

I will thankfully be out of New Grad Orientation and on my own by then :)

Hope to find out what to expect!

  • Orientation- go on campus or online?
  • Is it no more than 9 hours at a time but 15 in a semester?
  • Do they hook you up with preceptors to follow or can you find your own?

Thanks Rebecca

I took Hollistic Nursing. I think Aug 8th. I am a little worried about the load and trying to maintain the grades for NP school- but I can do anything for 8 months!ECCU who or how can we submit for someone to review? And is there a semester that is not as heavy in writing papers or can I just hunker down and write?Did you use an APA program for your WORD program

That's the link to submitting your papers for critique and guidance. The max return of your submitted paper is 48hrs. The last semester is a little lighter but it's still 15hrs but there is more group work involved. Remember the program is only 2 semesters hence the heavy load. Don't be over whelmed by the credits. .. like I told you guys the instructors are there to help and they will... keep ahead of the game and you will be fine. Keep in touch with your classmates exchange ideas. Remember very important! papers including discussions are APA format ;-)they love their APA...lol

Most of the papers are open to start working on early. ... so don't delay ...

I think you will all do great. ...just breathe; -)

Hey all, another question... did anyone apply who was still in their ADN program at the time of application? I am graduating with my ADN in May and will (hopefully) pass the NCLEX in June, plenty of time before the Fall start date... however, it won't let me submit the application until I put in a license number... I have an LVN license but I don't want to put that in, in fear it will get kicked back for whatever reason. I just put n/a in the fields, hopefully that is ok.. it let me submit it so hopefully it is.

I know some of my classmates (we just graduated last month and none of us have passed NCLEX yet) applied with an N/A in the license field and they were accepted to start this spring.

I am applying for the fall too :) I still need to take NCLEX and this spring I am taking the final 3 classes I need. I'm hoping to have the NCLEX passed before I apply so that I only need a contingency plan for the last 3 classes. I am not sure if they would let me in if I still needed to pass NCLEX AND finish the spring semester??

Thanks Briterz, I'm not sure if they will allow you to have both stipulations but the application period doesn't end until May so I'm sure you'll pass the NCLEX before then!
