Is anyone applying to the Texas Tech 2nd degree BSN program for 2016? I am and thought I would start a thread on here to get some conversation going! I'm so excited about applying but am nervous about getting in!
The questions are the same from what @evernursetobe wrote earlier:
1) why do you want to be a nurse at this point in your life
2) where do you see yourself in 5 years
3) what is your healthcare experience
4) volunteer experience
5) what will be your support during this program
3 interviewers. friendly. informal. went over by 25 minutes. letters will go out the first 2 weeks of september.
Has anyone with Austin preference gotten interviews yet? It's under my assumption that those individuals have yet to hear any feedback yet. Can anyone confirm this??Thanks in advance!!!
Hey Earleya,
I just wanted to let you know I found out Texas Tech is still holding interviews next week. I'm not sure if all the invitations have gone out yet because of this. Just wanted to let you know!
Hi everyone! So sorry I disappeared!!! We just finished up our summer semester on Wednesday and it was absolute madness trying to get everything done. But looks like a lot of you had interviews! Congratulations! One step closer!!! I'm still here to answer any questions if you need.
ckraider14, are you able to give us an idea of what a normal weekly schedule looks like? I'm curious if the clinicals and classes tend to be on certain set days.

Snwbal41786 - thank you so much for your FYI!!! I truly appreciate it!! :) Best of luck!
snwbal41786,
I'll be honest there is absolutely no set schedule. It is ALL over the place. One week you'll have to be in simulation, post-conference and a test then the next you don't have to go anywhere. Once you are paired with a coach your clinical schedule is based off of theirs, it is very difficult to try to work around schedules, assignments, and tests, but it can be done! Other specialty clinicals (OB, Pedi, etc.) is set by the clinical instructor at your campus so every one will be different. I know that our clinical instructor tries very hard to give us endless opportunities to participate in outside activities for clinical hours as well, so I can speak for other campuses.

My understanding is similar to Nessa. I saw somewhere they're only having interviews in two locations, Dallas and Amarillo I believe. All applicants for Austin will be interviewed in Dallas.
