  1. You don't need to bring any of that. They should already have your resume and you definitely don't need to bring a headshot. Just dress business casual, that's all you need to do.
  2. I heard back within a few weeks after the interview that I got in. It was definitely less than a month. I'm in the Austin cohort right now.
  3. Hey @skhansaba, I'm in the Austin program right now and I had very little clinical experience. I got my CNA about 10 months before the program started but I never worked as a CNA because I already had a full time job and was honest about that in my interview. I think it is more about your background as an individual. I have my masters in social work, I'm a doula (birth worker) and was a volunteer in the hospital. I think those experiences overrode the fact that I never worked in the hospital.
  4. Hey @cheinroth. I'm currently in the Austin cohort right now. The interview is pretty relaxed, it was for me at least. They ask you questions about your background in healthcare, where do you see yourself in 5 years, what is your support system like, what do you do in times of stress, how do you do with studying online, etc. they want to make sure you know what you are getting into..
  5. Hey everyone! I'm currently in the Austin program right now! 21 more days left of the most grueling semester of all...the summer! Anyways, this site and these threads were of great support to me during the application process so I'd like to give back and offer any advice I can. You can ask me any questions on this thread or can PM me on this site if you'd like. Best of luck to y'all!
  6. awesome! thanks so much for setting this up!
  7. I had no CNA experience. I'm certified but have not worked as a CNA. However, I've been a licensed social worker for the last 5 years and am also a birth and postpartum doula and stressed that as my diverse experience in healthcare. How about you?
  8. Just received my acceptance to Austin!!!
  9. They told me we would know within the first two weeks of September. But the interview notices went out sooner than expected...so it could be earlier than that. I'll let y'all know as soon as I do!
  10. I felt the same way as you did! I was definitely thinking of things I wished I had communicated. But overall I think it went well! Now just the agonizing waiting period!
  11. The questions are the same from what @evernursetobe wrote earlier: 1) why do you want to be a nurse at this point in your life 2) where do you see yourself in 5 years 3) what is your healthcare experience 4) volunteer experience 5) what will be your support during this program 3 interviewers. friendly. informal. went over by 25 minutes. letters will go out the first 2 weeks of september.
  12. They are not doing any interviews in Austin. Those who selected Austin are being interviewed in Dallas this week. I drove up last night and my interview is at 11am today. I'll post the questions and how it went later today
  13. @pinkparistx - they are seriously moving them to the 12th??
  14. @km1983, what a relief! I thought that meant Austin wasn't even an option anymore. Are you driving? My interview is at 11am.
  15. Hey everyone! I thought I wouldn't hear back until mid August but I received an email already on Friday that i have an interview on 8/10 at the Dallas campus (even though i applied for the Austin location). Did anyone else hear back?
